Hey everyone!
Ok, so I LOVE mushrooms and garlic so hey presto! I came across this recipe, made a few changes, and POW! A delicious fast day feast which tastes like it should be calorific!!

Ingredients:
- 4 Portobello mushrooms (Approx 45 Kcals)finely sliced
- 1 Shallot (6 Kcals)finely diced
- 1 clove garlic (7 Kcals) smushed up whatever way you like!
- 5mls Flora Cuisine (32 Kcals approx)
- 2 tbsp Philadelphia Light (60 Kcals)

Method:
- Fry the Shallot in Flora cuisine until softened
- Add the mushrooms and fry for about 15 mins.
- Add Philadelphia and stir very well. Leave cooking until the Philadelphia forms a sauce.
- Finally add the garlic.
I add a little water to make it go further but this is totally up to your taste. Also a little salt and pepper if you wish!

ALWAYS add garlic last minute as it tends to go very bitter if it is fried for too long...a good hint for any cook!

Serve piping hot!

If anybody spots any calorie mistakes I have made, please do let me know. it just tastes too good to be true!

And if you try it and love it like I do, I'd love to hear!

Also amazing served on a split grilled ciabatta or with diced skinless chicken breasts and pasta as a non-fast day low cal meal.

ENJOY!!
Hi Janie
That sounds delicious - I will certainly be trying it this week. I love mushrooms and find them so filling!

It does sound nice but what is Flora and Philadelphia?
Thank you, how delicious that sounds and we love those big black mushrooms! It's on the menu for Wednesday, with chicken (fasting tomorrow Tues ).....Have put the recipe on my notepad. I will substitute the Flora but adjust the calories. :like:
Sounds yummy! Thank you!

Love phily and mushrooms!

Another menu idea yeah! Love this forum ! :-)
Is philadelphia philadelphia cream cheese? I googled Flora cuisine and see it's a type of blended oil.

From the Flora Cuisine website:

Flora Cuisine

Flora Cuisine is a healthy cooking liquid that’s made from a blend of linseed, rapeseed and sunflower oils. Its mild taste is great for bringing out the natural flavours in your cooking.

Flora Cuisine is not only perfect for frying, roasting and baking – but it really is the healthier approach to everyday cooking. It also cooks brilliantly with no spitting or burning, and tastes delicious.

Thanks for sharing
Hi again!

Yes, Philadelphia is a soft cream cheese. The light one is very low in calories. It's made by Kraft.

Flora Cuisine comes in a bottle and is like a liquid margarine. Perfect for baking and frying!

Fry Light 1 cal spray is great too!

Thanks for all the replies!
Thanks for that :like: I try to do my fastday meals of 2 courses that could be ''shared'' starter as I'm doing tomorrow also + got chestnut mushrooms in that will do nicely  Sue
Wow! That sounds so good! It reminds me of some stuffed mushrooms I've made in the past. A couple of things I added to mine that were tasty were, chopped cooked shrimp, chopped fresh parsley, and a splash of white wine. Really good!

If I don't have light cream cheese, a lot of times I substitute wedges of the light Laughing Cow cheese (La vache qui rit). It melts really well.

Thanks for the great idea. Portobello mushrooms, here I come!
Oh yeah, the little Laughing Cow cheese triangles are amazing for my savoury tooth!! And at 25 Kcals, cheese is not the enemy!!

Woohoo!!

Now if only I could wash it all down with a very large Chardonnay and not feel guilty...or like finishing the bottle!
