I had this in Paris, at Les Deux Magots on St Germain. I loved it so much, I've been making it now that we're back home.
What they served there was a big slice of Poilane bread - it's a hearty wholemeal, sourdough bread. They topped the bread with a crottin of goat cheese they had sliced in half, making two disks. They put the cut side down on the bread, and then put the bread under the broiler until the cheese was warm and gooey and the bread was toasted. They served that with a simple green salad topped with tomato and cucumber slices and a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette.
I calculated that if you have a 50g crottin of goat cheese, that's somewhere around 107 calories, depending on what you get http://caloriecount.about.com/calories- ... se-i330421
I have a great wholemeal sourdough I can get, and I weigh the bread to calculate the calories per the label, but it's not hard to find a slice for about 100 to 150 calories.
Green salad with tomato and cucumber can be done for 25 to 50 calories, depending on the size, and I have a low calorie balsamic vinaigrette I can have for 20 calories per tablespoon. Go nuts and add onion and carrot if you like
Bon Appetit!
