While I was away on hols and you were setting up the book club, I read The Cuckoo's Calling by "Robert Galbraith". I enjoyed it but would be very interested what others think.

Welcome back Caroline - yes, September's book is 'Big Brother' by Lionel Shriver, as suggested by dhana and sarahg, but we're going to nominate for the October book in this thread, and then vote for the nominations. Shall we add The Cuckoo's calling to the list then??
Last couple of days for nominations fasters............................anyone one else out there in 5:2 land got any suggestions???

Okay, you talked me into it Minsmum!

"A cup of light" by Nicole Mones

This is a novel about an expert in Chinese porcelain who goes to Beijing to assess a 20 piece collection that is for sale. It is about the beauty and fineness of exquisite ceramics, but there is a lot more to it than that, and it is quite tenderly written.

My dilemma at the moment is that I have a hold on Big Brother through my library but am in a queue of 29! It may take 100 days before I get it. :frown:
Must be a good read!
Judio - it is! Hang in there! Worth waiting for!

Just put up the voting list for October's book last night, but this one can always go on the next list - the more suggestions the better!
Thanks Silverdarling, I have voted for the October book now and also put my choice on hold at the library, whether it wins or not as I want to read it anyway!

Thanks for the book club!
