Accidents at Christmas?
23 Dec 2013, 05:24
Reading @Julieathome 's accounts of the things that have befallen her family this Christmas and at others made me think..i' m accident prone anyway..but thinking about it,are we more vulnerable this time of year..coz ive had flu three christmases and even had swine flu one memorable christmas..
Fell last christmas and fractured wrist, another year i fell down the stairs on the bus to the surprise of the downstairs passengers and no wasnt drunk...and yet another xmas ( sober) caught my heel in my hem getting out of a taxi and fell into the road
My friend is extremely accident prone..she fell over jiving and knocked herself out on the fireplace...she broke her arm riding then falling from a kids bike..and she ended up in A and E after hitting her hand with a hammer whilst trying to break up toffee..
Any anecdotes you'd like to add to this sorry list of woes! X?

I don't intend to have any accidents this year, thank you. I have been fortunate. I had a bout of flu 10 years ago leaving OH to do the Christmas shopping in Spain (he did very well, even managing to figure our what cinnamon was called in Spanish). Don't ask me how I managed to cook. And I never ate.

Another year I tripped over in the house one Christmas Day on a hard wood floor and hit my big toe so badly I ended up losing the nail. I still remember the pain!

So far this Christmas its only a chair dropped on my big toe by my youngest. I had bare feet at the time, so it's a lovely bruise with swelling so far.
There are still 10 days to go till I feel I am out of the 'Christmas Zone' though.
