Even bigger (much bigger) than ever before, what started out as a meeting in a pub has grown to a free exhibition with plenty of sales, examples and raffles taking over the Shropshire Show Grounds.

I'll be there, with my vaping hubby. Is anyone else going?
Hey Julie. Give us your take on e-cig's. Healthy or not? I have a few colleagues into them and I'm curious.
Healthier than smoking, very much so. There have been no independent trials that show any harmful ingredients either to the 'vaper' or to the general public. Meaning there have been plenty of independent trials done, and nothing has been found that is harmful. Hubby swapped onto them one day and hasn't touched a cigarette since. Wait a minute I tell a lie. My daughter brought him back a proper Cuban cigar so he tried it the first Christmas smoke free (only 4 weeks later) and nearly threw up with the taste of the cigar. He will never go back to smoking. He gets the nicotine he craves, without the thousands of carcinogens that smoking gave him. Plus he gets it in lovely flavours without any tobacco flavour. His favourites are vanilla Custard, sour cherry, strawberry ice and a mixed fruit flavour called 'squid ink'.

The Biggest advantage to vaping over other smoking cessation devices, patches, lozenges or gums is that e-cigs work. They have an 85% success rate, where the rest have a 15% success rate and its cheaper than smoking. If you or someone you know wants to quit I can't recommend e-cigs enough. But don't go for those horrid little cigatrette look alikes, they are a waste of money. Go to a shop or online seller and get a started kit with an ego battery and get a trial pack of different flavours. You won't regret it.
Hi julie
Can you tell me what shop I can buy a starter pack with different flavours? I have a friend who could really benefit from it. How much will it cost? Is there a certain brand she needs to buy?
Thank you
Katie
Here you go. Starter kits generally come with a rechargeable battery or two with a charger, a system for holding the liquid (a 'tank' or 'cartridge') and the atomiser (known as an atty). You can start off at under £20. For beginners an ego battery based system is usually good enough. http://www.safercigs.co.uk/STARTER_KITS ... 85794.aspx

You can get liquids from the same supplier but hubby finds this supplier to have really well flavoured juices. His favourites are 'Squid Ink' and 'Minion Farts' (yes they are real flavours). http://www.krakenecigs.com/eliquid/krak ... nal-recipe

With all of the juice vendors you can get various tobacco flavours, which usually disappoint newbies as they don't mimic tobacco exactly. But a newbies is expecting a tobacco flavour at first. So when you order get one tobacco flavour then something else you think they may like. Hubby's first foray into alternative flavours was lemon meringue pie flavour.

If the person you are buying for is a heavy smoker, 25 cigarettes a day, they will probably need 24mg strength juice. 15 to 25 a day and you can drop to 18mg, and 10 a day 12 mg strength.

If you need anymore information about e-cigs drop me a private message or just ask here.

The best thing I found as a non-smoker was that the house and hubby lost that pervasive tobacco smell. Even now hubby is amazed how much he can smell it on other people and wonders how I put up with it for so many years.
For anyone else who is interested here are some basic facts about e-cigarettes.
