I woke up at dawn today and have watched on TV, the New Zealand and Australian Anthems sung at the Sydney Dawn Service for Anzac Day, to commemorate soldiers lost at war. To follow in Sydney and many cities, , ex-servicemen and women meet to take part in marches through the major cities and in many smaller centres
For those not familiar with this day of remembrance in both Australia and NZ

To my Aussie and New Zealand friends on this forum for which this is a special day for your own experiences or for lost loved ones or soldiers that you know who have fought, I hope the day gives you an opportunity to reflect on this sad day.
The Ode comes from For the Fallen, a poem by the English poet and writer Laurence Binyon
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
LEST WE FORGET
As a child of war refugees from WW2 there is something special about this day for me.
