Bucket list
07 Aug 2013, 23:59
Lots of things happening recently to concentrate the mind on time passing, so have started a sort-of bucket list ...
1. Get back to painting and drawing. Go on more Sketchcrawls.
2. Learn how to make bread properly.
3. Learn how to crochet at my wonderful local wool shop.
4. Learn printmaking properly.
5. Get into a size 12 before the end of the year :grin: :grin: :shock:
6. Go to an exhibition or museum / art gallery once a month.
7. Go to Rome.
8. Return to NZ (fifty years since I was last there :shock: :wink: !) and Australia.
9. Resurrect one of the half forgotten O level languages I'm supposed to be able to speak.
10. Buy a serious piece of clothing when I reach my target weight, to celebrate.

Anyone else care to share?? :smile: :cool:

Lovely list Silverdarling!
I've been thinking about this recently, not as so much of a bucket list, but just as a place to put together the things I want to do.
Just managed three of them
Having a Singapore Sling in Raffles in Singapore- tick (and boak- it really wasn't nice :sick:)
Doing a voyage on a tall ship- 6 days AND dived from it. Complete with heaving bosom- well, I can pretend and I was on it when the rigged it- came over all emulsional so I did. "twas lovely
See the stars in the Southern Hemisphere.

Still want to ice dive and see an iceberg
Identify some southern hemisphere stars
Get into the three pairs of aspirational trousers hanging in the wardrobe- never have bought too small clothes before but did last year by accident . A dress - a real bargain- and finding I couldn't get it anywhere near zipped up but it swings now. So I know I can do it.
See dugongs
see beluga whales
be fluent in a language (Beloved says English would be a good start :shoots daggers:)
There is more and now that I have actually started writing them down I will add to it.
Thanks for starting this thread :D

Hello Silverdarling, there is a boat on the loch called silverdarling and it takes you all around loch Lomond not the biggest but one of the prettiest lochs in Scotland, I feel you should add this to your list as you seem to have a wee affinity with silverdarling. You are not too far away and I would be happy to show you around. absolutely no pressure think about next year. \\\\\\\\\you won't need me it is easy to find but if you feel the need of a guide I would be happy to oblige..

Funny, I've been thinking about this recently (partly prompted by finally getting around to making my will). So far I've got -

Learn to sing (current status - braying donkey);
Learn to draw (can't manage a straight line);
Learn Italian;
Go back to Italy and converse fluently;
Live without a TV for a year;
Live without alcohol for a year;
Be a vegetarian for a year.

Oh, and now I've turned 55, I'd really like to find out what I want to be when I grow up.

Shachat, I used to give up TV for Lent. It is amazing how much you can accomplish when you don't watch TV.

Off the top of my hea,d my bucket list would be
1. run a half marathon
2. Visit Machu Picchu
3. Play some Chopin on the piano
4. Learn Japanese

Climb the Sydney Harbour bridge (will be able to tick this off soon as I was given the climb as a gift this year)
Go to Vietnam and Cambodia (5 weeks till we leave)
Travel to the UK and explore.
Go back to Venice.
Move into our new home that we are building.
Finish my cross stitch of The Prosperity Fairy and hope she blesses us so I can afford the above.
