Hi everyone,

We have booked a long weekend at the new Center Parcs at Woburn for early July, when I have been there previously I haven't had the chance to have a Spa session, this time I will be able to and would like advice from anyone who has used it.

Is the 3 hour Spa session worth it (£44)? have you had any of the treatments and would you recommend them ? (they all look quite expensive to me). Any tips regarding the Spa would be appreciated.
I can help here......
We're going to woburn late July, it only opens in June so you will need to give me the low down. We've been to Thetford about 12 times and travelled down to longleat once, which we will not bother doing again. Not because it was horrible but it wasn't worth the trip for a different set of trees.
I've done the 3hr spa session and it's great with hubs or preferably a mate. There's loads of different types of steam room, saunas etc. and quieter "falling asleep" areas, all in one place. It's great but I do not feel the need to do it again whereas my sis has done it twice.
The spa treatments are the same as any other spa. But best advise from me is book everything as soon as you can. About 8 weeks before you go. You can change booking when done on line but refunds are a bit less than the booking fee.
We've only been In the summer once before and lewis was 3 so 14 yrs ago. Do you know whereabouts your villa is on the map.? we've got two sauna/games room ones next door to each other.

Edit. I've had an email today saying we can book up now. Not going for over 4 months.
Hi Caroline,

I was beginning to think my question had vanished into t'internet

We are Center Parcs veterans - Longleat and Elvedon when our son was younger, but this is the first time I'll have the time to lounge about in the Spa.

The reason for the visit is that OH and DS are going to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone as an 18th birthday treat for DS, and all hotels within an hour's drive are already booked, so I was quite pleased with myself for remembering about Woburn. We have selected our Villa based on it's proximity to the Car Park as the chaps will be up and off on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. We only have a 2 bedroom one, and I think you only get the sauna/games room in the bigger ones.

So far I have booked bikes, the Italian restaurant for dinner on the Friday night and the French one for Saturday night, and a Spa session for me on Sunday morning.

I will report back
It's a great place for families and couples alike isn't it. Shame you'll be on your tod for most of the day time. But I'd Defo go for the spa sessions and some classes, boxercise is a laugh, and of course you can run. So how do you compare longleat with elvedon?
Will be interesting to see how woburn compares won't it. Perhaps I'm a creature of habit, but I do like elvedons layout, prob because I know it inside out. Did you go when it was all under one roof before the fire?

When's your son 18. Ours is 18 on 7th May!
I liked Elvedon because it is drier and flatter than Longleat. We went post-fire, it was gloriously hot and sunny but so dry they banned BBQ's!

My son's birthday is July 5th - the day before his exam results come out *Yikes*
I've been to the spa at elvedon twice, and absolutely loved it. The first time I had a massage, but the second time I went with a friend and we just pottered around trying all the different areas and generally relaxing. We even had a snooze!

I'll be glad to hear a report on Woburn; hubby works a lot at Newport Pagnell so we are considering booking a week at Woburn in the holidays. He can pootle off to work each day and the children and I will enjoy ourselves while he's hard at the grindstone. Poor lad.
Ha ha nice one winsome. Me and my daughter went to gran canaria with my inlaws 2 summers ago and left my hubs and son at home.
Maybe we could do an east of England 5.2 meet up at woburn on a spa day. !! Just a thought.
@Winsome, I promise a full report on Woburn, possibly a "live" commentary if their WiFi works.
I have booked 10.00 - 12.59 in the Spa on Sunday morning, my son is sitting the International Baccalaureate, and we have been informed that results will be available online at 13.45 on that day!
IB. We do that, not very many colleges do it around here. Best of luck to him, what subjects. I'm the biology tech for IB at my school.
@carieoates He's doing Physics, DT and English Higher and French, Economics and Maths Standard level. Mocks started today and run for 2 weeks either side of Half term, and as you know the real thing starts on May 5th.

(Shouldn't you be off celebrating btw?)
