Clothes you feel amazing in?
23 Jul 2013, 17:14
Feeling quite chuffed today as I bought the same pair of trousers I bought back at the end of April (khaki straight legged cotton trousers from mantaray at Debenhams), in the next size down! When I bought them in the bigger size they were flattering and I felt fab wearing them, and to now get in the lower size is even better - and I've not had to shoehorn myself into them. They seem to skim my hips and are slim fitting without being too tight and make my legs look really slim - which is great as my legs are one of my most hated features (along with my bingo wings but lets not get into that). Plus they were in the sale, so that's a bonus too!

Got me thinking - what's your favourite outfit/item of clothing? You know, the one that you put on and then keep looking at yourself in the mirror cos you know you look great in it - or at least it makes you feel great! For me it's those trousers with a slash necked tshirt (lots in the sales now) with a long necklace (I'm fairly flat chested so the tshirt look suits me - can't wear anything low cut).

Now to skip about the house for a bit, feeling fab in my new trousers....
Oh, my little Italian number that I wore to Le Train Blue in Paris, oh, oh, I just love it. It is rather floaty, flattering and I just love it, if only I could live in it I would. I am going to tell hubs that if I die I wish to buried in it. Actually, we have a corner cabinet that I could not live without and just had to have, when it arrived hubs duly measured me and then the cabinet and solemnly declared that if I died before him, he would save the cost of a coffin and have me buried in it but he would first have to chop off my feet to fit me in. When I asked where my feet would go he answered, with a twinkle in his eye, that they would be either side of my ears!

Ballerina x

P.S. that was not a joke, honest! He really said it, cross my heart and hope to die, but not before him, PLEASE!
I am rapidly changing shape and size so don't want to get any expensive clothes at the moment, but went to the local car boot sale on Sunday morning and just as I was leaving a new seller arrived with a load of clothes. I got a pair of jeans, a dress and some tops for £2 each. They are not what I would usually go for at all, but they look super, one dress in particular which is very fitted. I would never have believed it just a few months ago! I usually go to M&S, but these clothes are from Warehouse, Mango and Jigsaw. Love them and they were a bargain!!
I haven't lost enough yet to have found any great new clothes. However, I was just wondering about clothes last night. I work in a very casual dress environment and so don't dress up much. We're attending a wedding in Mid-September and I began to wonder what I had to wear. What smaller clothes in my cupboard might be fitting by then and whether any of them would be appropriate. I decided to stop worrying about it and go to sleep. There is after all loads of time between now and mid-September to both explore the depths of my closet and consider clothes shopping (which I hate).
I was quite pleased today as I bought a pair of yoga pants in "medium". I know what you are thinking, they are stretchy...correct. But it use to take a large, xlarge, or xxlarge to stretch around:)

Very bold hubs Ballerina, long may you live so as not to end a tad footloose in a corner cabinet

To the thread, I am amazed to be wearing leggings or stockings of the trendy fashion kind with tunics and my nice suede ankle boots. This is because of the weight loss has been in my legs. Who'd have thought, not me. I am now what I weighed before child bearing and my legs were ok then and moving in that direction now. I did get DS's opinion before I ventured forth and to him I passed muster. As all my pants are falling down and I don't want to settle on new trews which won't fit me long (living in hope here) I am also back in skirts to the knee also working the stockings / ankle boots combo.
Oh my, Ballerina strikes again!

Well, with the danger of repeating meself and end up boring, I need to lose another kilo or two and get in my size 8 skinny jeans from New Look. The minute I do that, I will feel over-amazing!!!
I brought a pair of jeggins so I get your new look. You must be nearly if not there TML
If it wasn't for the last month's ordeal I would be. I can get into them but there is a muffin top so I am just waiting.
Speaking of jeggings, I do have a pair but I didn't try them on when I bought them (I almost never try on clothes from certain shops) and I had no idea that jeggings should be one size up from jeans which makes them a size smaller. GGgggrrrrrrrrr!!!
Oh dear have you tried them on lately might get a surprise
No, haven't dared. They are a size 8 which means they are actually a size 6 and I'm currently a... 9, LOL! (Between 10 and 8)
I made a 1940's pattern (awesome find on ebay) it is a six gore skirt that is quite slim in the hip area as most clothes were back during the war years. I made this skirt up a couple of years ago and it now fits better than it did when I first made it. It is nothing fancy just a woollen blend six gore skirt but I love it especially as one of my old school friends and her mum saw me for the first time in years and they both said that it gave me a nice slim look. Winner.
