Cooking progs on a fast day ...
02 Sep 2013, 19:26
... Why oh why do I end up watching them?? The Great British Bake Off on Tuesday, and now Jamie's money saving meals, followed by the Incredible Spice Men ...
:dazed: :starving: :dazed:
I'm the same, I spend hours looking at recipes and watching cookery programmes on fast days, but luckily it doesn't seem to effect my fasting negatively.
Ooooh thank you, I'd forgotten about the Spice Men - over there now :)
It is a weird form of masochism I indulge in all too frequently myself on fast days. I'm really into the Barefoot Contessa (the whole Northeastern US thing she has going on reminds me of home). I fantasise about what I'll be able ti eat "tomorrow".

I had never watched Great British Bake off but have been trying to download it on my iPlayer and it won't take. So annoying!

When is Jamie on? I'd been meaning to watch that too.
I'm fasting today and have been cooking ahead for later in the week. I've been very disciplined about not licking spoons or fingers.
Mummybunny - was on tonight at 8pm on C4 - so you could watch or record on C4+ 1 in about 10 minutes ...

vildekhaya - you must have very good willpower!
Aargh, missed the Spice Men. Set to record the repeat on Sunday.
I love cookery programmes, even on a fast day. We watched a Jamie's 15mins earlier. Yum yum!
I'm enjoying the Spice men on my fast day. Good to see Mr Robson from Chainbridge honey pop in there. We always have his delicious honey.
I always watch the cooking shows, fast or no fast. It's like watching Fashion TV when I can't afford to go shopping or when men watch porn even if they will spend the night alone. ;-)
