I'm kicking myself for the 'Gone with the wind' (never saw it but almost put it) and 'The wizard of oz' (should have know that!). Never mind, I did better than I thought, hehe :)

Wait, Gone with the wind won in 1940 not in 1939. The same for the Wizard of Oz. They didn't win the same year as Snow White

This page, about the 1939 academy awards there is the disney movie and the James Stewart movie You Can't Take It With You
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11th_Academy_Awards

This page, it's about Gone with the wind and the wizard of Oz in 1940
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12th_Academy_Awards

I am a bit confused as, in the questions, it only talked about 1939 with the Disney win as a reference.

I know I am a pain in the you know where

@Manderley eeeeeeeeeek noOooo you are right! I just looked on oscars official site!!
I will make amendments to scorings etc at the weekend, when everybody has got their answers to second round ... And you're definitely not a pain in the butt! :like:
According to what I just read, Gone with the Wind won the best picture Oscar for the year 1939, but the Oscars were handed out in 1940 - so that makes everyone right????
The trouble is, everyone would be right if there was no mention of the Disney win in 1939. It's difficult to have it both ways, either the 1939 Oscars are the one which were handed in 1939 or they were the ones handed in 1940

I am a huge James Stewart, and have a crush on him when I was young, and Franck Capra fan, that's why I noticed it
What I might do then, for the best, is just withdraw the question and adjust scores accordingly. But this will be after next weekend, as I have social events coming up and work has just thown a googly in my direction.
Don' worry for that, waiting a while will build up the suspense
