Re: East Anglia Meet Up

What a fantastic time I've had today - I'm quite surprised my jaw doesn't ache! I don't think there were many topics of conversation we didn't cover (although we avoided politics I believe!). Thanks to WendyDarling, we all have a Smorgasbord of Aldi chocolate to sample at our leisure....the divvying up of this got us some curious looks in the cafe but a lovely lady had a nice chat and kindly took the pics for us and we let on to her what the gathering was all about...I have come home and my poorly old cat is still with us so that's a bonus and I have the house to myself for the evening so my jaw can have a rest (apart from sipping the red wine - well, it is a feed day and after what we've had today............)
Looking forward to the next one - hopefully I'll be able to impress the rest of you with my weight loss by then

Well haven't you ladies had a special day! Lovely to see you all! Er and buddy of mine, I hope none of those chocolates have been tested yet! Blimey, have you got enough chocolate between you all?!

Oatesy? Have you got any room left for your takeaway tonight?!!

Bean :starving:

Just to clarify: my lack of avatar is nothing to do with trying to be anonymous - I'm just technically inept and haven't worked it out yet - despite consulting instructions.........I think I shall have to tempt @CariOates over on some pretence and get her to do it for me!

Home safely via Tesco to a hungry husband who was wondering when I was going to reappear. Had a lovely day, easy chatting to everyone and lots of lovely food. @Wendy Darling thank you for the chocolate; my family fell on it very happily as soon as it was out of my bag (have managed to keep some of it safely hidden!). Thank you for a lovely day ladies :)

Choccy is in the fridge @nursebean and I have to admit that the only choc I've had is a hot choc on a fast day.
Yes @madcatlady I will come over and sort your avatar.
Hubs got a Chinese and I had a couple of table spoons of crispy shredded chilli beef, a BBQ rib and egg fried rice. Plus I've had a couple of red wines.

Bless him he the hubs put the two new radiators up, sorted the movement sensor lights in the kitchen, and pulled down a bit of the ceiling in the en suite (another day, ladies, another day) then Went out to play golf.

So @Stowgateresident how's YOUR new ipad?

And wendy is such a laugh, always something going on in that there brain of hers. The waiter says can I help with anything else ladies after he's bought over our food.
She says "yes have you got an iPhone charger I could use?"

Well ladies you certainly don't do things by halves - morning coffee, then lunch, followed by afternoon tea not forgetting the choccy quotient supplied by @Wendy Darling - just in case you got a bit peckish in between-times. I bet your TDEEs got shot to smithereenies - but who cares? Looks like you all had a great time :victory:

WD - re choc supplies - that's just what I would have done, had I been there!
@rawkaren - eyes of a hawk!

I love these meet ups and am looking forward to a Melbourne one when we can arrange it. Lovely to 'see' you all!!

Thank you so much ladies for a lovely day. All that chatting and laughing was great. So glad that you all liked the chocolate. It took ages for me to get home as the sat nav kept taking me off piste and on magical mystery tours!! In the end, I had to pull over and phone home to find out where I was (yes, I was able to plug both the sat nav and the phone to the sockets in the car so I could at last get some charge in the phone. It really does discharge so quickly, I really need to replace it, today's phone experience taught me a lesson) I reset the sat nav and from being lost in the wilderness, I was on the dual carriageway and home in no time, via the supermarket. I then had a busy evening so have only just had time to log on here. I have just shared some of the chocolate with the family, we all agreed that it was delicious. I sampled the marzipan one. Since I got home I have had a cuppa, a few nuts, a g&t and the choc. What a food fest we had today

@silverdarling it was you that put me on to the Aldi chocolate, so thank you. I was looking for small bars, not realising that they were individually wrapped in fives inside the cardboard so I just bought a selection of what I thought were large bars to share. How fortunate that there were five of us meeting up and so they were divvied up equally, we all got one of each type to try.

It was so funny when that man looked in amazement at the amount of chocolate on the table. I just couldn't resist telling his wife that we were strangers that had met on a dieting forum and that's why we were eating cake and sharing chocolate. What a laugh  I bet she googled 5:2 as soon as they got home, and how funny that they were also Aldi chocolate fans.

Anyway, thanks again for your company, it was a good day. So glad to have met you all and thank you Loulou for instigating the EA meet up x

Just fallen into bed after dozing on and off in front of the television all evening. I can't do early mornings anymore! My thanks to @Wendy Darling for the chocolate (already tested!), @Loulou51 for organising us, @Madcatlady for the chauffeuring service, @carieoates for her role as official event photographer and all of you collectively for what turned out to be a really enjoyable day!  We must do it again sometime, soon!

I arrived home to a grumpy husband because it turns out that he had tried to ring and my phone was on silent, However, the cake from Patisserie Valerie and some of Wendy Darlings chocolate soon sorted him out! :victory:

I am, carieoates, writing this on my new ipad mini and very nice it is too. A very lovely early birthday present and a good reward for getting back to my target weight. What an eventful weekend this has turned out to be! See you all soon, even if it is only in the virtual world of this forum, for the time being, at least!

Good news! Hopped on the scales this morning and I weigh the same as I did yesterday morning even after all that eating. I was back down to my target yesterday for the first time since my recent holiday so perhaps the key to maintenance is to stuff your face!!!

By the way, if anyone needs to know...... yesterday I ate and drank black chai for breakfast at home, white tea and a slice of cabinet cake for elevenses in the cathedral refectory, sea bass with leeks and a sauce, butter or hollandaise I think, served with new potatoes and green beans at Cafe Rouge. Cappuccino and a strawberry Mille feuille at Patisserie Valerie and then white chai, some nuts and chocolate and a g&t when I got home :pig2:

Oh and I was annoyed that I didn't take my sweatshirt off to show you my svelte figure  in that photo it's all bunched up round my tummy. Honest Guv
