I have been so big, for so long that the idea of putting the word association of Julie and fashionable together would cause gales of laughter in my household, the biggest laughs coming from me. For me being fashionable meant making sure I didn't have bolognaise sauce on my ample bosom before I went out the door and my wardrobe consisted of 8 pairs of jeans ranging in size from 18 to 26.

But, even though I am still only one third of the way to my goal, I have lost enough weight to feel that it could be in my best interests to make sure I can put clothing and styles together so I don't make silly or expensive mistakes.

So people please help me and lots of others on here and contribute any hints and tips you may have to this end.

Secondly, the Marks & Spencer style adviser. Fill in the questions and they will find your style and any outfits that M&S can put together to achieve the look, you don't have to buy M&S of course.

Getting the bra right could be the one biggest step towards getting the look right. The wrongly fitting or wrong style bra can ruin a look and your day.

I'm as clueless as you but waiting in anticipation of clever replies. I always wear pants .don't feel comfortable in skirts probably due to varicose veins and also years of wearing pants feels normal and comfortable. I like the look of skirts with high boots and thick tights. That is something I'll work towards I think. Is that a look you might like Julie?.I like the idea of a more feminine look that what I usually wear.
Xxx julianna
Not really what you're looking for here but last week I went for a bra fitting at M&S, with no intention of buying anything till their next 20% off period. It passed a Fast day afternoon very cheaply
Yeh @julianna the idea of boots with a skirt and tights is deffo one i am working towards.think Julie said same elsewhere. Would be nice to get out of trousers for a change.
No idea on what best to wear ...need a stylist and colour consultant! X
I thought of another thing. Being large busted when I buy any top or jumper it has to preferably have a deep v neck or deep scooped neck and preferably go 'in' at the waist. A normal high neck T-shirt or jumper looks terrible- matronly and not flattering at all. So instead of looking like a sack of potatoes there's a hint of an emerging feminine figure.
Wow @Julieathome I love, love, LOVE the scarf video. Thanks for posting
Here is an interesting website to motivate all of us: model diet.com. Enjoy!
Why can't you wear a knee length skirt, thick tights and high boots when you still have a long way to go? I think it's a flattering look for all shapes and sizes. In fact, I bet a skirt would look better than trousers. I wear that look all the time. The best I have is a skirt and top that are by chance the same colour and I always get flattering comments when I wear them. Wear a lovely scarf and it will cover up all sorts up top. Try it, I think you'll like it
Will do Wendy! Too hot now but I can start looking for boots in the lead up to winter.
Xx
@Wendy DarlingMy legs are too fat to show, even more so in thick tights, and i have probs getting boots to fit coz of my chunky trunky calves! Don't i sound just gorgeous!  losing weight from legs tho,so am living in hopes..
I'm the same as @CandiceMarie fat calves still. I can only wear ankle boots so the skirt has to be a long skirt as I don't thing anyone wants to see my calves and or thighs just yet.

I did find the M&S style adviser pretty good.
