Fasting and Natural Disasters
13 Sep 2013, 03:21
Here's a tip for you. Schedule your fast day to coincide with a natural disaster. You will be so busy going to the aid of your neighbors, and so stressed watching the waters rise, you won't even think about food. If you don't know what I'm talking about, Google Colorado flooding. Self and loved ones are safe, otherwise news is bleak.
Ah yes, I can imagine that would focus attention somewhat. I immediately thought of earthquakes as our friends are experiencing quite a few in NZ.
Hope all goes well with it and it isn't too traumatic.

Oh no, thinking of you and everyone effected. We flooded a couple of years ago, so I know the anguish that goes with it.
Floods in Northumberland 5 years ago this week. It is very traumatic, watch out for post traumatic stress if affected, can occur weeks after.

I'm SO glad that's the case. I'm lucky, I can only imagine what you must be going through. I think 5:2 is pretty irrelevant at the moment.

Take care

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-24068804 WOW
Oh my goodness I have just read the news story. My thoughts are with you, your family and neighbours wendyjane xxxx
I'm glad you and your loved ones are safe. My thoughts are with your fellow Coloradans.
There is a video on the BBC website front page. That look horrendous. Glad you are all safe.
Oh my goodness, wendyjane, how scary for you all!

Glad you're all safe.
Pouring again today, Sunday. Thanks for all your good thoughts. Since we have no basement and are not in the mountains, we are more fortunate than most. Our neighbors with basements are dragging everything into their driveways. Huge piles of ruined belongings. Lot of it soaked in sewer water. And many people in mountain communities are stuck - no way out but by helicopter.
