Feeling sad and upset
20 Jan 2014, 11:20
I haven't posted or commented on anything here for a while, sometimes if I'm feeling low I just can't join in, I don't have the words.

Today I just have to though, this is a copy of my post on my facebook page:

My hubby was very pleased yesterday when he saw a smart little fox in the field next to our house. I saw it today when I took the dog for a walk, it was laying in the sun at the side of the field... Dead... With it's tail cut off!!

It really made me upset and angry to see the poor thing and telling everyone about it helps. The poor fox didn't do any harm, the farms here are mostly arable, there are about a dozen bullocks and no sheep. The only chickens belong to my neighbour who has them in a secure enclosure.

I would like to cut off the appendages from the person who did it! All of them! Grrrrr

Rant over.

This is truly shocking. I'm sorry you had to see that.
What is wrong with some people?!

I missed you coffee time and when you popped up the other day it was nice to see you here. It would be lovely to see you posting again.

Sad about the fox. That could get you into some trouble better to natter away with us. How are you going with the 5:2?

I hate seeing animals killed for no reason like that, I would have been really upset too. If you can afford it, why not make a donation to a local wildlife shelter so that other wild animals that get taken in can be looked after and released?

Very distressing for you :( I would have felt very angry and upset too.
And sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling too good. I hope that, despite the awful experience, things are starting to feel brighter for you.
I know you know that there are plenty of people on this forum for support.
Sending hugs. Xox

I think many people would be glad to see the back of Mr Fox, but not in such a barbaric manner. They are random killers, unfortunately, and having seen the results of fox kills, it's not something I'd wish on anyone.
That said, they are beautiful creatures and there's nothing like seeing a magnificent dog fox in the countryside against a sunny background.
So, I feel for you, because it would affect me like that too.

Why don't people just leave our wildlife alone?! It's like men who shoot deer. What kind of soul can go for a beautiful walk, with breathtaking scenery, see a magnificent stag...and kill it? A dead soul that's who. (Sorry I've recently watched Silent Witness and it was set in Scotland where the scenery is truly inspiring...and somebody shot a stag). Mr Magee don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!

Er sorry about that @Coffeetime got carried away there! Glad to see you back and hope you're ok. I know you'll be sad. I'm like you, but to the point where I won't watch wildlife programmes because they always show the animals killing each other and I find that way too upsetting. Mind you, I did see a wonderful programme the other day about an Australian guy who looks after orphaned kangaroos. He's even set up a sanctuary for them. He is literally their "mum". The joeys were so sweet, they looked just like my Italian Greyhounds. Mind you, I had tears in my eyes when he released them with older kangaroos...it was so sweet :-)

Big hugs Coffeetime xx

:( What a sad post - how horrid for you to witness the cruel and needless death of this poor fox. I hate this sort of thing - hope whoever did it rots in hell. strong words but how I feel :(

Oh,that's so sad.
Once, very many years ago we were driving when a fox and her two young ran accross the road. The car infront hit one of the babies and killed it, and so we stopped and dragged the dead fox to the side of the road, and seeing the other two foxes trying to wake it up was one of the saddest things I've ever seen, I've never forgotten it although I must have been a small child.
Sorry, probably made you feel worse with my story but your story made me think of it...
