For the first time ever....
24 Dec 2013, 11:50
I've got too little cake for the marzipan
I usually buy about 3kg because I really don't want to run out. It's an 8" cake so mustn't be too stingy with it.
And there I was yesterday, gaily rolling out the gorgeous stuff and fretting that there wouldn't be enough. Bought a wee bit extra just in case and brought some gloriuos red stuff back from Budapest to do the stars for it (I don't ice, just marzipan and then marzipan decorate...)
And when I had put it on and filled the gaps and eaten my fill, (and felt slightly green) lo and behold, there was red stuff and half a block of white AND half a block of yellow LEFT OVER!
This has never ever happened before!
The surplus is now in a container and is still untouched.
Drat this 5:2. It has a lot to answer for!
