I know its not officially 'til Tuesday but a little bird tells me there are lots of celebrations tonight and I will be wistfully remembering the fabulous fireworks on Blackheath - used to love going there, freezing to death, imbibing lots of warming alocholic beverages to keep out the cold - those were the days!!!

Anyone else going???

Have a great Guy Fawkes everyone :like: :star: :star:
Can't believe you are missing fireworks in SoCal! I'm in the wilds of Northumberland today and not much going on here apart from a few distant pops and bangs
Well I'm near the coast in Northumberland and last night there was a firefighters strike so people were encouraged to postpone the fireworks till tonight - and tonight it is wet, wild and windy - so not ideal weather ...
Not seen a single rocket here in the wilds of Anglesey - and it IS very wild tonight.
Been to the bonfire night in the next town this evening. As usual it was an excellent display courtesy of the Round Table and the rain stayed away. Still trying to warm up...I'm sure the brandy will help.
Isn't it supposed to be snowing up your way tomorrow @wildmissus?
@Silverdarling thanks for the good news  ! I'm hoping that will be for the high ground, I live by the beach although the thought did pass my mind tonight, ie, we've had halloween and now bonfire night so now its time for the snow (and the C word)
Elsewhere on Facebook today someone on Skye posted a photo of snow on the tops of the mountains in Knoydart ... And that's in the warmer Gulf-Streamed west! Hope you escape the stuff to the south of you - it seems very early to get this sort of weather

Also looking across to the Cheviot (30miles north) on the way to the A1 this morning, it had a dusting of white ...
I was a girls night in at a friends house. One of our friends is a children's entertainer, a clown even and she came straight from work, still in her full clown costume and makeup and proceeded to entertain us all for about 20 minutes. I've never laughed so much in my life as she had us all making balloon animals and doing very clever magic tricks, hilarious. We then had too much to eat, MUCH too much to drink, went outside and giggled as we lit our sparklers, oh to be a child again instead of an ageing adult with a child like mind, on the other hand hey, we had a good time,

Ballerina x
I know the weather there is pretty awful but glad some of you managed to have a great time anyway.

Yes, rawkaren, I miss lots of things about the U.K., probably not the weather, though!!!!
My other dog ( not my avatar) was grateful for the rain-she is terrified of fireworks!
