Having seen on our news the sort of conditions in some parts of America, I'm wondering how you're all coping over there?
It looks truly awful.
Mind you, some parts of Britain are suffering with terrible floods, too.

Hope you're all keeping safe, warm and well x
Hi USA- ers...Hope it improves soon..in the meantime -
Sending warm hugs to all our chilly chums xxxxxxx
And cooling breezes for our Oz pals who are baking..and not forgetting UKers who are battling wild weather conditions...
What a crazy old world it is...
Thanks, folks. Warm hugs much appreciated. It was warm and rainy here yesterday and through the night. The big freeze in NY state starts tonight with temps dropping 20 degrees F during the day today. High of only 7 F expected tomorrow. Lows well below 0 F for tonight.

We're coping by postponing planned big grocery shopping from tomorrow to Wed when the high will get all the way up to 20 F!! It'll be partly sunny, though.

So for tomorrow we'll stay home and warm. Feel sorry for those who usually get much lower temps than we dol
They are calling it the" Polar Vortex", snazzy, huh? Today, in Boston 57F a couple of days ago 4F and tomorrow 8-14F. And my 14inches of snow is all but washed away. Mid west is more of a consistent sub zero freeze I think. My son in Ireland said they called for evacuation in Belfast due to floods. Maybe this wild weather is why I was carbo loading the past two months.
That's might cold! For us Brits, 14F is -10C. Brrrrrr.
Stay safe.
@clairemarieI have no idea what you are talking about with minimal experience of such cold but keep warm dry and safe. I had to smile you mean you were in prep for the hibernating. The bears do it why not humans. Soup fasts would be good
Yep Gillymary I am lucky to have all this brown fat to sustain me. As the Farmers Almanac predicted this wicked winter, I made myself Norwegian slippers (felted wool) and polar fleece long johns. And I made a good soup once a week.
