JANUARY BOOK CLUB
08 Jan 2014, 13:40
Er, as it's now the 8th of January I wondered if we could decide on a book for this month. Being fairly new, I don't know how we go about putting suggestions forward. Any ideas anyone?

Yep! Am now, just been awol in the Men Only tent

There were a few suggestions made back on the December thread - the Luminaries was one I remember ...It's by Eleanor Catton and is this year's Booker winner ...

Or Karen suggested this list from the guardian

And I saw this the other day - it's Waterstone's Book Club's list for 2014 - and we've already read one (Big Brother) but some of the others look interesting - Red Joan, the Rosie Project ... And there's even a French one about a librarian!!!

FWIW, The Rosie Project is LOVELY - very entertaining and maybe just right for this time of the year?

I've just been on to Amazon and bought a number of books after reading the posts on this thread! I have only joined in one month's book club so far but I like having ideas for new books to read from the suggestions made by others.

I would like to re nominate 'The Light between oceans' by M.L. Stedman it is set near Tasmania so I thought our antipodean sisters would like it.
