Long Live Britain

Long Live Britain finally airs tonight at 9 on BBC1. It was postponed due to the Royal baby.

Sounds interseting.

Yes thank you. I had set up the original airing to record & hadn't noticed it had been postponed but had wondered where it had gone!

Well, I did find it interesting, although the findings were no surprise.
I was amazed at the woman who said she drank 3 bottles of wine at a sitting, and another quite respectable mature lady who said she drank 8 triple vodkas on a weekend night out!! No wonder they had issues.

Makes my drinking habits look positively puritanical!!

Thanks for the tip

It was interesting to see that a lot of the volunteers from the medical charities were even larger than their potential customers - it looks as though the messages about weight and fitness do not apply if you are in the trade!

Was it a boozing competition? Can I go next time? ;-)

I missed it because I was watching the rather confusing Southcliff on C4. I'll have a look on catch up after dinner. I'm fasting today and it sounds like a good program to watch and feel smug.

Just watched it and it made me feel, not smug, but relieved that I decided to change my WOL, and that I found 5:2.

Indeed, a lot of nurses are blimps.

The main learning point I took away from the programme was the bit about eating only as much as you can hold in both hands. As someone who still struggles with portion control, that seems to be a useful measure.

I read or saw somewhere that our stomach is about the size of one fist. Anyone know if that's true or did I just make it up?
