My sad update
02 Mar 2014, 22:31
For all those kind folk asking I have a sad update on our situation here. Jen passed away on Feb 19th, peacefully in the little hospital where she spent her final months. We were there with her. She was 34 yrs old. lost to the filthy disease which is bowel cancer.

It was her funeral last Friday, a day to celebrate her life where she had already managed to do so much. About 200 family and friends turned out to say goodbye and we were surrounded by love and support. I can hardly believe she is gone.

The past few weeks have been very hard as we also lost her grandma a week before Jen. Grandma (other half's mum)was a much loved 91 yr old. I'm so pleased she went first and did not see her granddaughter pass away.

We will be trying to pick up the threads of 'normal' life again, including 5:2 in the coming weeks.

Gill A long time ago my brother in law died at the age of 35 from the same disease so I have some understanding of how unfair it seems. Be gentle with yourself at this terrible time and take support wherever you can - don't be afraid of upsetting others with your tears your hurt is the greater. You are in my thoughts Lili
