THE ONE LEGGED BALLERINA
04 Dec 2013, 09:42
I, actually it was hubs, have updated my avatar, this is the famous painting by Degas, it is called 'The Star' but I always think of it as 'The one legged ballet dancer' daft I know, but I love it. Hope you all have a great day.

Oh dear Ballerina, I thought for a minute that you broke your leg or something like that and instead I see your new avatar I am too dumb (or my glasses are not good enough, which is probably the case) to see properly

I am soooooo shocked

Hi Ballerina

great choice!!

I love Degas paintings, the Tate has a few in its collection, French impressionists are my favourites :-)

Yes, what it is to have a reputation. My immediate reaction was, oh heavens what HAS she done now! Phew, just a change of avatar. No medical aid involved!

I'm another who thought you had broken your leg whilst away.
I was expecting stories of slipping on the soap in the shower and having to be rescued by sexy paramedics whilst draped in a towel . Or is that MY fantasy?

'Oh no, so close to Christmas!' I thought, but thank goodness, you are in one piece!
It is a lovely painting, and now I'm not going to be able to look at it without thinking that she has only one leg! :curse:

Hi Ballerina--lovely avatar! There is a reason they wish dancers "Merde!" rather than "Break a leg!"
