Hi, I got a post against anti perspirant deodrant and that it causes mutation to cells to give breast cancer because armpits, back of knees and behind ears are the places we perspire and release toxins. I thought the new verdict was there was not evidences that anti per spirants cause cancer. Thankyou for reading. Have an awesome new year.
This was on Facebook and the replies from poeple were they don't use anti per spirants. Would they smell really bad, I would think so, I would.
I have heard people say that it's the aluminum in conventional anti perspirants that can be a health hazard - but I've never heard it from someone who had scientific evidence to back up this claim.

I have probably tried 20 natural deodorants before. Only one ever worked, it was by Lush, and they stopped making it.
I really like the Natural Liquid Rock made by Kiss my Face. It is an all natural roll on and I buy it at Whole Foods.
Hi @zamale - no, it's an internet furphy (Aussie for complete rubbish). Antiperspirant doesn't cause breast cancer, or any other kind of cancer.

I just use deodorant not antiperspirant but not sure what the scare was all about.

@GoLinda your avatar always makes me think of a Weetabix :-)

Thanks for the link, just what I need,@jools7

Facebook is loaded in news feed with everything and I mean everything.and trying to figure out what is bogus and what is not can make your head spin
I am allergic to some of the ingredients in anti-perspirant where my skin turns firey red and weeps within seconds of applying anti-perspirant so I can't use them. I use the natural deodorant that is made of some kind of crystal (one of the brands available in Australia is called "Deonat"). To use it you wet the crystal and then apply it to your underarm with the same motion as if you were applying a roll on.

They work by killing the bacteria that is found in your underarm region and that way you don't smell. They do not suppress your sweat glands so you can end up with sweaty armpits on a hot day but at least you don't smell bad.

I find that these crystal deodorants work for me which is fortunate b/c there is no way that I can use the regular stuff.

If you want to try them most health food stores stock the crystal deodorant and even some of the Coles/Woolworths either in the health food aisle (either the very top or very bottom shelf) or in the deodorant aisle.
For those in the UK, this is the all natural version.

I too am allergic to a great many antiperspirants & deodorants, red armpits etc. I use something called Bionsen (made from Japanese spa crystals), it's a natural deodorant (not an antiperspirant) in spray or roll-on form and I buy mine in Waitrose, but it's stocked elsewhere. I can recommend it if you have allergies.
