How's Your Day > 7th March
07 Mar 2013, 07:53
It's rainy outside but nice and warm here at work. On my 2nd fast of the week and feeling good.

Reading some of yesterdays posts I'm awed at the general busyness of some folk. I'm finishing work early so I can get my heating system fixed, so looking forward to it working properly again

Have a good day all :like:

Fasted from lunchtime yesterday to about 7am this morning. Still trying to work my fasts around work shifts. Going to Mums tonight for dinner but having a mushroom omelette as mum always has some "goodies" for afters.

Only today and tomorrow to go before I get the whole weekend off, yippee. My shifts mean that I only get a full weekend every two weeks and I'm usually too tired out to actually do much, tend to just chill out and potter around.

Fasting today! Chickens and ducks out and fed. Had a cuddle with the new chick, very cute! Just enjoyed my porridge snuggled on sofa with big puppy tight next to me! He has gone back to sleep and is keeping me warm. Didn't light the wood burner this morning as not freezing and trying to reduce wood used. As it is a fast day I will not light Esse and only soup to heat in microwave. Meeting a friend this afternoon so that will distract me. Have a couple of knitting projects underway to keep me occupied this evening.
Fog rain and mud again today!

Not fasting today. Went over to my neighbour's house to get weighed. (I was obsessed with weighing myself, so don't own scales now). YEEEHAAA!! Have lost 2lbs since I started the 5:2 on 12th Feb. I know it's not a big loss compared to how much weight others have lost. However, as I am in this for health reasons more than weight loss, this proved to me that my clothes feel looser because I HAVE LOST WEIGHT. I do hope that it's fat loss and not muscle.

Yesterday's fast went well. I had soup at lunch time but didn't know how many calories it contained (I had lunch at a farm shop). By 9 pm I still wasn't hungry, however, Hubby didn't like the idea of me not eating at all. He prepared a bowl of baby leaves, tomato, cucumber and half a beetroot for me whilst he had salmon and cucumber sandwich with a side salad.

I've just had a lovely porridge with fresh blackberries and blueberries. Black coffee and a glass of water.

Hope you all have a brilliant day.

Hoping to have a better day today after two days with an upset stomach. Just need to rehydrate and get my energy back and I should be back to normal by tomorrow! :D

In my 5th week, and my skepticism has fallen off an even steeper cliff than my weight, fat, and waist. After 4 weeks I'm 13lbs lighter and 1.5" less chunky. No-one has noticed yet, but it's not for them - it's for me. :-)

Fast day today, and looking forward to my FD staple, which I thought I'd share:
1 medium head of broccoli (steamed 8 mins)
2 portobello mushrooms (sliced, grilled dry on my G. Foreman for 5 mins)
Dash of hot chilli sauce - 1 or 2 drops.
Stir in a bowl, and serve.

Fridge to fork in under 10 minutes, and barely 100 Kcal.

This is a BIG plate, but 100 Kcal leaves ample room for a substantial dinner (typically 2 huge bowls of soup + bread on my FD).

All the best if you're just starting out. All I can say is stick with it even if it takes longer than it did for me to see results - you're doing yourself a world of good.

Well done Vulcan!
I'm working a bit in the lab, and fitting in some outside jobs. Tidied up the hay barn ready for a delivery. Then washed a load of synthetic harness and grooming kit as my home bred pony is going off to Scotland tomorrow to be trained for driving. I'm packing his suitcase. It's very exciting as I've done all his training so far. I have to travel with him tomorrow so trying to get ahead on the jobs and also leave the b&b ready for guests arriving tomorrow night.
It's a fast day today so I'm going to have quite an appetite by tea time.

Just back from shopping and eaten tasty scrambled eggs on seedy toast.
I've read and considered the paleo/caveman no-carb diet info and decided for now to continue having 2 slices of good bread a day. Trying to shoe-horn into 5:2 everyone's good ideas and advice could start to overwhelm me so I'll continue 2 fast days a week, giving 24 hours between last meal and Fast days' only meal, and eating after 11am on feed days 2 good real food meals. I'll also keep an eye on the calories every day, 1700 on feed days and no more than 425 on fast days, as this has been successful for the last week in weight loss and higher energy levels and awareness.
Looks like a manifesto but writing it down does help my ideas gel and I know the odd slice of cake/squares of chocolate will pop up and be enjoyed without fear or guilt.
I haven't felt this good in 15 years and that's the truth. :0)

Hope nobody minds, but I've moved some of the posts from here to the Fasting Today thread as I thought they were better placed there. :)
