47 for me. Jane austen top for me but loved Millenium - if you watch the DVD watch the translated swedish version as its much better. Wolf Hall I gave up om but love Game of Thrones but blown away by the sheer number of characters .Thank goodness for the family trees at the back

19. Then again a few of them are more than one book like lord of the rings so they should count for more !! Also more if I count the ones Ive seen as movies and the ones my children have read.

Yes Angelwings the Swedish version of Millenium is much better. I got through Game of thrones, lots of characters and just as you get used to them he kills them off. The TV series is very good.
