Hello all!

I'm here to ask a question on behalf of a friend. She is not exactly fasting but she is eating upto 1000 calories twice a week.

Next week, she is going to England (either Manchester or London, she is not sure yet) and she will have 3 days with business meetings, a couple of free days and then a few more days of business meetings. On the business meetings days, she will have the nights free to dine out and she will have lunch with her colleagues so she came up with the plan to do her 1000 calories days on her 2 free days and combine them with sightseeing.

She told me that she is planning to get her food from M&S, since it was where she ate from as a student and she feels nostalgic. I said that they now have a new range with low-cal meals and she is super-exited. So excited that she is already wondering what she will eat!

Having seen that some of you have already tried, or at least seen, the new range, what are your suggestions? Assuming that she will have a light breaky at her hotel (toast and butter, eggs and veggies) what could she eat (for lunch and dinner) that will keep her in the 1000 calories limit?

And, since we are on the subject, do you think that this is a good way to maintain (or at least not gain) wait during a holiday when a 500 calories fast won't be very easy? (That is my question, obviously!)
Without getting into details I think this will be easy. M&S are very good at marking calorie content of their foods and they have a good range of lighter meals. Some of their shops have cafes which have the same food (and show the calorie count too) so if your friend wanted to sit and eat something hot rather than using plastic cutlery in a plastic box she might be able to do that. OK it's not a fine dining 'experience' but the food is good and she would know what her calorie intake was.
Thanks!
We tend to take the food and eat outside (weather permitting). It brings back memories of when we were young and didn't have much to do.
I suggested museum cafes to her (before she told me her idea about M&S and 1000 calories) but she said that she'll do it like the old days. :-)
Easy peasy! Lots of things to choose from there. She can salivate over these pages

:)
Definitely! M&s have wonderful salads (fruit and veg) and 300 cal prepared meals :)
OK, so I sent her the link.

She called back in, like, 20 seconds.

And she said:

"Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh... I think I will eat 1000 three times a day"...
;-)
BTW, judging from the fact that when I'm in England I eat from M&S every other day, I should have known the answer to her question.
But I tend to choose the not-so-healthy options, LOL!
