I was reading a similar article with the one posted here which ends with:
<<But it might be time to change this dated business model. Plus-size, generally referring to U.S. 14 and above, makes up 67per cent of America's purchasing population.>>

Now, I don't want to sound mean but that is also sad. It means that 67% of the population might be overweight/obese.
Have you seen this webpage before, TML?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-18770328

Its got average BMI info from around the world and you can put your details in and find the country your bmi matches for your demographic. The average american woman aged 15-29 has a bmi of 27.

I started off at micronesia, currently at spain and aiming for myanmar.
Glad to say I've never shopped there and never will!

What a disgusting person, inside and out!!

Thanks for the link. I'm at Italy - a country I love. Good reason to move there!:)

But also, it turns out my BMI is lower than 61%in my age group - bit of a much needed morale boost!
They said their pants don't go over a size ten? How does an American 10 compare to say Aus? Does anyone know?
What a pretentious pig. It made me sad though, reading it, and kind of like not the cool kid, if that makes sense - I hate people that make me feel like that or remind me of my unhappy school days. I was most definitely not the popular kid at school with a large group of friends. The girls with the large group of friends were absolute cows, at least at my school. It's so nice to be an adult, I don't miss those days at all.
Well, except the boozy Uni days....I do really miss them :)
Yes, TML, definitely plastic surgery, and even that didn't work!! He still looks like he hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down!!! X
Hi!

I just signed the petition "Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries: Stop telling teens they aren't beautiful; make clothes for teens of all sizes!" on Change.org.

Here's the link:

http://www.change.org/petitions/abercro ... e_petition
Yes, I have seen that link, I think I was Angola.

To be honest, I wouldn't sign a petition for someone to make clothes of all sizes for teens. I would sign a petition that would encourage parents to not feed their kids crap and make them obese at 14... I despise this CEO and his practices but the answer to them is not to make XXL sizes for teens!!!
And look what they've done to Merida

She's a wee lassie for goodness sake!
Much as I think his comments are ignorant and tasteless, this is nothing new. Lots of shops stop at small sizes. All stores have a demographic that they aim at - some target young, some old - do we get angry at them for discriminating against age?? Or angry at the plus size stores for discriminating against skinny people???

I completely agree with you, Writerscramp :) I do miss Uni days but being a teen was a nightmare.

I wish there was a subject "How to enhance your self-esteem" among the usual maths and science. It would be so much more useful.
If you asked me, I don't have any problem with where their sizes start and stop, it's their prerogative to choose that. It's his attitude that is disgusting!

Well, Janeg, even wee lassies nowadays look different than they used to. It's a sign of our times, I guess...

To be honest, I too love being an adult. But I still get to have boozy nights (and a few days, LOL)!
Tee hee
