I'm sitting in the conservatory with the wind whistling through the trees, dipping in and out of the forums whilst working VERY hard on my assignment and the remote control for the tv jumped into my hand! BBC1's coverage of Trooping the Colour is on and I just thought how much I love the pomp and ceremony that we're so good at in Blighty, isn't it spectacular? Oh well, back to it

Caught a bit of this while waiting in the bank this morning, on a giant screen.
OMG - weren't those horses marvellous, gorgeous beasts? And the men weren't bad either.

Good time of the year to be in Lovely London. Ah, if only...
Drooling over the horses here. The men not so much. The drum horses are my faves.
I recorded it & I am watching it now. The whole thing is so impressively done & there are big crowds watching. The horses are amazing particularly the gun carriages although it does look a little odd with so many ladies included now also wearing bearskins & wielding swords in salute. Unfortunately it has started raining but all the umbrellas look colourful & crowds are moving down The Mall to be outside Buckingham Palace to see the fly past.
NOBODY does it better ...........
Yup. Makes you proud to be British. Did you notice how the Queen perked up when it got to the horses? She looked quite glum at the start but once the horses were on parade the smile came back.
