My Neighbour
27 Jun 2013, 18:48
I've just passed by 5:2 book to my 70+ neighbour - she's such a love and always says how lovely I look (NOT) and she can't loose weight and she has various health issues that she thinks is making her put on weight.

So off I went rung the door bell and said 'I hope you wont be offended but have a read of this'. Even after following the rules for only 2.5 weeks (6 fasting days) I am a convert to this new way of life.

I did suggest even though I haven't had any side affects that if she's worried about anything to speak to her doctor first - I also suggested coming to the Forum Website as I know she's on line - so hopefully I've found a 5:2 buddy right next door and we can motivate each other.

That's great! I have a great neighbour who is 87 years young and when I knocked on her door today, she was up her stepladders, fixing her guttering on the outhouse! She is as sharp a tack! pretty slim though, and eats a lot of veggies and nuts and seeds.

My dad has been 5:2ing since Jan and has lost about 10lbs. He's 84 and is the lightest he's been since being a very young man. I was very worried about him doing it, but he's found a way that suits him. I do worry that he doesn't know when to stop though because he's a bit obsessed by his charts...
