Does anyone do it?
Can you recommend any reading on how to do it properly? Or got any good tips? I really want to learn but am finding it quite difficult at the moment.

Thanks

There are meditators here but it might be helpful to read about mindfulness as well. All the best

Hello Sophie
Delighted to hear the CBT is working for you.

I've had a meditation practice for many years now and find it wonderful for calming the mind and creating a quiet space in my hectic life. I can recommend "Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world" by Prof Mark William - it comes with a CD of guided meditations which is very useful and the workbook is practical and easy to understand. You can get it from Amazon. As with everything, perseverance is the key to successful meditation but it is a gentle art and nothing to become anxious about - take your time and try to set aside fifteen minutes or so every day to your practice. It can only enrich your life if you allow it to.

Good luck on your continuing journey!!

I practise a breathing meditation similar to the one described in this PDF. Would recommdend finding a class to go to when starting out as it's easier to find the motivation to do it (at least for me) than just doing it on your own. Start with just a few minutes at a time, though, and build up from there.

I have started using Prof Williams book mentioned above in the past few weeks. And I really am finding it useful. I have tried meditating before but I am one of those with a mind like a hamster in a wheel - never stops. But this seems to be doable for me
