I woke this morning to a suspiciously soar throat/bunged up /stressed out feeling and decided today wasn't going to be a good for a fast day.

I didn't want this thing developing and feed you body and starve a cold and all that.

Done the usual things anyway pretty much and so I don't think I've gone that far over.

Anyone else suffering in this weather (I DON'T do the heat). Sitting here now with a fan blowing straight on me.

I drove back from a meeting last night in Telford and got a craving for jaffa cakes :curse:  . I didn't give in!!
Absolutely David I have had and still have a beauty, feel really rotten. Sore throat a terrible cough, the lot. Hope you feel better soon, and keep away from the Jaffa cakes they are no good at all for colds!!
Me too but it´s almost over now....there are a lot of these at the moment!
It was my own fault. i set out for the meeting with wet(ish) hair. In a rush as usual dspite having the whole day....

I'd have thought I'd have got away with it 85 deg + but I can't do that.

The meeting was like an oven too.

 jaffa cakes no good.
Permanent hay-fever at the moment. Or to be a bit more precise Allergic Rhinitis. Luckily for me I only get the symptoms nasally, hubby has for the first time in his life got allergic symptoms and his eyes are bloodshot and really itchy. He hates eye drops.

My sister's ex use to absolutely stream with hay fever.

It doesn't usually affect me directly but one nevver knows.
Just finished sore throat/sinus/cough for two weeks here in Boston. I thought it was a virus but really it started during obnoxiously hot weather from sweat/heat/air conditioning. Nothing worse than a fever and chills in 90 degree weather. I might also blame all the blooming lilies this time of year.
A couple of people suggested anti histamine tablets agianst the pollen in the air.

I didn't take myself for a hay fever sufferer but it took away 50% of the symptoms....

Just got some more today.
My youngest teenager came to me a couple of days ago with a sore throat, I had a look and it was inflamed. As the doctors take about a week to see anyone and he's going away tomorrow on a trip I got him to gargle with TCP morning and night and thankfully its cleared up. Its an old fashioned remedy, but surprisingly still works.
Over here in Sydney there's a bit of a cold going about. I have it now. It is mild for the moment but seems to hover. I'm fasting so I'll go for a rosehip tea.

I use a salt water gargle if I have sore throat.

I might say I've found FLP* bea propolis tablets extremely good, too, recently, though it isn't a cheap option.

Where I work propagates colds beautifully and for a period I was getting them at the drop of hat.
