In case anyone heard about the powerful typhoon that hit Okinawa yesterday, I am fine. I lost power for 6 hours and have a big mess to clean up, but otherwise all is well. Unusually, the island experienced some flooding, mostly of roads. The infrastructure is good here, so usually there are no problems...

I was thinking about you, MaryAnn, when I heard about the typhoon--so glad that you are ok.

I have a grandson in the US Marines who is stationed in Japan--now I'm thinking about him as well as everyone still in the path of Neoguri.

Thanks, everyone. Things are fairly back to normal today. Even my favorite beach bar, which tends to lose its roof with every typhoon, is open tonight. Luckily I'm not fasting
