Thank you so much for sharing your lovely photos Tracie. Looks like you all had a fab time and you all look so fit and healthy!
Thanks everyone!! We really did have a great time!
The scale wasn't looking too happy with me this morning, but my legs still ache from all of the exercise they weren't used to doing. So I'm hoping some of that is still water weight.
We didn't do the open top tour bus. I had a really nice National Geographic guidebook for Amsterdam and a short little Rick Steves guide book for Brussels. And we walked all over both cities! I think my favorite thing in Amsterdam was when we walked west to find a windmill (de Otter) that had been built in 1630 and was still standing. We went through some lovely residential neighborhoods and found a top-quality bakery with amazing little cream puffs. In Brussels, we adored the little Magritte museum, and the view of the city from that hill at Royale is really gorgeous!

Lookin good! Great pics thanks for the tour. I made it as far as Ireland. Someday I hope to be fortunate enough to tour the rest of Europe.
Lovely pics - you both look great
All above echoed! Looking good, relaxed and happy there, Tracie!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ladies!!
Clairemarie - it can be done more cheaply than most Americans think. You know, Europe has a middle class too that feels the pinch and can't afford $50 dinners every night. One of the keys is to find out how locals eat and to find smaller hotels (not chains) with decent reviews - they probably don't charge nearly as much as a Hilton!

How wonderful! I'm guessing Paris is a special place for you judging by your avatar an all! Can't get that apple cake with cream out of my mind!

Thank you everyone!
@Nursebean - yes, we adore Paris! and that apple cake was amazing. I have a recipe that's somewhat close, and I will be working on tweaking it over the next month or two. When I perfect it, I will let you know!!
@Madferrit - Eurostar's tickets are downright cheap when they first go on sale, about 120 days in advance. I think you can do London to Paris for E39?
@Nicky_94 - we will be back in Paris the last two weeks of August!! We may roam around Brittany and Normandy for a few days, but hubby has a conference that whole last week of August at the Palais de Congres. We'll be staying at hotel Europe St Severin in the 6th

Tracie, you should be in the travel industry. Very informative review you've given.
Aw thanks Carie - i figure if I'm going to go through the money and effort to get somewhere, I might as well do a little bit of research before I go and make it as good as I can!
Now I have that George Michael song going through my head "if you're gonna do it, do it right!" LOL
