What a wonderful world!
12 Nov 2013, 04:04
Just looked at a pic from Julianna of her lovely tomatoes. As my Australian friends move to summer I am afraid to say I am slipping into winter with the possibility of a snow dust tonight. This summer winter thing never ceases to amaze me. My heart is heavy with the devastation in the Philiphines. Sorry for the spelling as it gets worse as I get older. The point of this post is just that how nature fills me with hope in that what causes damage begins a renewal. And the whole cycle is awesome. When I eat what is natural I feel wonderful and when I eat a chemical experiment I feel awful. Our bodies constantly die off and renew just as the seasons around the world. And I love all of you for sharing your ideas and habits too. I never would have thought to have hot chocolate at bedtime but it is the most comforting thing when going off to sleep. I hope that you all don't think I am a weido but I so appreciate you all and the world we live in.

Clairemarie you don't sound like a weirdo you sound like you are having a really good day today. I agree with what you said. As the sun is reappearing after a few days of really good rain. I can almost hear the garden growing. And hot chocolate before bed is just perfect

I think you sound lovely and caring - and I have a hot chocolate most evenings before bed.

Cheers MAGGIE.

Mmm hot chocolate before bed? Wonderful.

As for nature and the world. You're right...it is a wondrous place but as the tragic events in the Philippines show, there is just nothing we can do about extreme weather, is there.

Loved your message...you'd be weird if you didn't appreciate the world around you.

Hey there 43 tweaker thank you so much for Louis Armstrong. Beautiful. And thanks to all you other girls, too! My world not so wonderful today. Why do people beep their horns while at a red light? What's the point? I find it very unnerving and begin to think should I drive thru a red light to shut them up?

Thank you clairemarie lovely post, absolutely agree about eating natural foods and feeling then how junk foods make you feel yuck. I think we can do things about the effects of global warming. It is time to wake up but those in power seem to be like the people who thought that the earth was flat. So here is hoping for some leadership. Good on getup for tomorrow in Australia. See Sallyo recent post. The world is wonderful let us hope we can save it

I'm glad I'm not the only one clairemarie, I see beauty all around me wherever I go, rain or shine. When I'm feeling down it gives me hope. We humans have a knack of spoiling our beautiful planet but nature soon 'papers over the cracks' and will do so long after we have gone.

Sometimes when I think about it I get such a wonderful feeling of elation and when walking my dog there is always something to bring a smile to my face, new growth on a fallen gap in the stone hedge, the way the wet leaves shine, low golden sunshine lighting up a patch of hedgerow, the changing cloud formations....I thought I was weird but perhaps not!

You are definitely not alone... I'm another who appreciates life's simple pleasures....for example, I have just cracked open a few unsalted pistachio's and one of the kernals is REALLY green compared to the rest... how amazing is that?

And for the record (oops, pardon the pun) Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World" is my favourite song... EVAH!!!! xx

And I've just tried The Village Bakery's rye bread with multi seeds, cheddar and a sweet pickled onion. Simple fayre but boy did it hit the spot!

I'm becoming quite converted to the rye side ...

No @coffeetime,you're not weird at all, and I would add you're a poet and you didn't know it!
Completely agree about the beauty around us, was only marvelling at the autumnal hues on the trees today, love this season for the changing colours! :like:

Thank you @callyanna, I'm sure that this forum and the lovely people here add to the wonder. I can't think of anywhere else that you could get so many people talking together without many of them misunderstanding, taking offence and verbally back stabbing.

Yes it is a wonderful world.

from one of those lyric sites, the lyrics of the Armstrong song.

the words are so apt for your thread..

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
They're really sayin......i love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
They'll learn much more.....than I'll never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
They're really sayin...*spoken*(I ....love....you).

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
*spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than I'll never know)
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world.

One of my top fives, too. I really like the IZ version that combines Over the Rainbow and Wonderful World, too. Hard for me to pick which one is my fave ever, but I lean towards IZ because I love both songs, a lot and the Hawaiian flavor adds something, too. (Hopefully, the link will work it is giving me some nonsense about mobile compatibility; I have this one downloaded on my Kindle so I can watch offline, too.)

OK, here's one that should work for the people on mobile...
