Oh Candy, you are naughty!
If I'd been one month earlier it was Big Hunk of LOVE by Elvis, drat!
I have never heard this - a bedtime lullaby :?:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTkbj56bnYs
Never heard of mine-not appropriate nowadays thank goodness. I'm a Big Girl Now by Sammey Kaye and his orchestra
Oh @lizbean i know your song so well! It was one of the handful of records we had late fifties...
@merlin i havent heard of your song but you made me smile!
My so g was Lucky Old Sun by Frankie Laine
Did you see the thing at the bottom that tells you how many minutes have passed since you were born?
In my case - 34,493,654 .....yikes! kinda creepy... :confused:
Is this a US site @CandiceMarie? My birthday says it is "He's a Rebel" by The Crystals, but on the UK Charts it is Frank Ifield "Lovesick Blues". Fun though!
I' m not sure @rawkaren..a friend sent it in an email to me
I love the crystals " He's A Rebel" but Frank Ifield... :confused: :bugeyes: ....
XX
How uncanny! Mine is "Volare" - and I have been hearing that a lot of late!! :grin:
"Breaking up is hard to do" by Neil Sedaka

This must be the American chart and I am happy with that because the UK #1 was "I remember you" by Frank Ifield.......much less chirpy!!

Thanks Candy!
Ahem...mine is this...Tony James & the Shondells! I'd never heard of them until Candy sent me this...

Is it me or does he look like Ed "Stewpot" Stewart?!!
:smile:
Heehee,he does look a bit like Stewpot @nursebean..and he's Tommy not Tony!
He doesnt look very much at ease does he....One of my fave songs as a teen..and you were just a tiny new wee babe..makes me feel very old! X
Mine was 'A Little Bird Told Me' by Evelyn Knight - all about getting married and having 'kids'. The British charts (last time I looked) didn't even start until after I was born in 1949, although I suppose there might have been one for radio hits?
In the UK it was Silence is Golden by The Tremeloes. How appropriate as I'm always being told to keep my mouth shut :grin: . In the US it was Groovin' by The Young Rascals. a very mellow song.
Love both those songs @wildmissus youve got two goodies there
Misheard lyrics..i worked with a girl who sang
" life could be ecstasy,you and me and Lefty,
Groovin on a sunday afternoon" instead of " you and me endlessly groovin" :lol:
@stowgateresident yeh i guess was just a radio chart back then..i am same year ...49, wish had been just weeks later as1950 doesnt sound quite as bad!
@sassy1 Volare is such a feelgood song! ! X
An earlier version of the theme song to the TV show Dragnet.
Dum, da-dum, dum...
<lol>
Ooh, I absolutely love "Silence is Golden" @wildmissus - lucky you to be born on that day!

I recently bought a double CD of Sixties Hits....and have been singing along at the top of my voice whenever in my car!!

The very last track on CD 2 is one of my all-time favourite songs......."Where do you go to my lovely?" by Peter Sarstedt. One of my party tricks is to sing it all the way through....I know all the words!

Am definitely a 60's & 70's music fan.....
