I'm really struggling to come up with something for 12 year old DD. She doesn't even know what she want, it's not that she wants too much and can't choose (like some other years), she said she doesn't need anything and can't think of anything she wants. Although that's good and I love that she's not materialistic, I want to get her something really good that she hasn't thought of. Because she doesn't want toys anymore I'm really stuck. What have you all got for the young ladies in your family? Also can anyone recommend a good board game. If you play board games at xmas, which ones? Thanks for any help

How lovely to read that there isn't anything she wants! What about an experience eg Go Ape, or the theatre? I can't pretend to have a clue what a 12 year old would enjoy however!
I can understand where your DD is coming from. I'm the same way, and I drive everyone in my family nuts because I can never think of anything that I want for a present.
If she enjoys reading, and has a cell phone you could give her a subscription to Scribd or Oyster. If she loves music, she might like a subscription to Spotify. (I'm addicted.) If she doesn't have a cell phone, you could give her a Kindle, sign her up for BookBub and give her a gift certificate she could use for books.
Would she and her best friend enjoy a fancy lunch out together somewhere? Perhaps she'd like to take a pottery class? Would she like to go rock climbing on one of those indoor walls (if they have them in your area?) A skating party for her friends (if they have that in your area. We had a roller rink and the preteens loved going there.)

I am in the same boat. My daughter is 11 and never wants anything. Again, I'm delighted that she is not materialistic but she can't not have any presents! Books used to be a good stand by but she has a kindle and she's not allowed a mobile until secondary school.
It was her birthday last month so we're really struggling as we used up a lot of our ideas! We got her; new boots, a chocolate fondue set, Pandora charm, tickets to the ballet, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire DVDs and a Mockingjay pin oh and a lego camper van which is awesome!
For Christmas so far we have got her; a grow your own bonsai, a nail art set, perfume, a board game (can't remember which), a space hopper (and one for her brother LOL, I'm planning on stealing them to race my OH after a few drinks on Xmas day!), and we will be getting something like Spirograph, a Pandora charm and a new bike we think.
Hope I've given you some ideas!

Does she like to do crafts? If so, maybe a gift card for a craft store for lessons as well as craft items? Our granddaughter loved that kind of thing when she was that age. Maybe a contribution in her name to a worthy charity that she might be especially supportive of/

Multiple presents?
On the subject of board games we have a game called The Really Nasty Horse Racing Game - it is for up to 6 players but you can easily pair up - not for sensitive souls tho' and it can take quite a long time. Other favourite stand bys are The Game of Life and Payday and ,of course, Trivial Pursuits although the questions can be a bit dated. Yesterday we bought a new one based on the TV show Pointless ( don't know if you have that down your way) to try this year.
Some great ideas there ladies, thank you loads. I like the experience or class idea @Annurca, @peebles and @marybeth will look into what is available in my area. @Jenny110 some great ideas there, think I will get her a chocolate fondue or fountain, (she'll love that when having sleepovers) and a charm bracelet of some kind, will have a look at a few of the other things too. The space hopper idea is going in the bank, she can have a pair of those for her birthday (in summer) to race her friends (and me ) . @juliana.Rivers, Yes of course multiple presents. I'm terrible and normally have to stop myself . DD doesn't get pocket money or many thing bought for her through out the year so at xmas and birthdays I like to spoil her. Does anyone only buy their children one prezzie?, I don't know anyone who does. I will have a look for the The Really Nasty Horse Racing Game @Lil never heard of it but want something we've not heard of so thanks for that. Well that's enough to get me started, other ideas still welcome. Thanks for the help
Sorry @jennyH10 I got your name wrong
Wherever you live, there are voucher for cooking courses aimed at her age group.
Nice idea @pennyforthem but I'm in Spain and wouldn't know where to look for them. Will find out for next year tho, thanks
