Camping with your horse
23 Feb 2014, 14:23
I know there's quite a few of us that are horse-mad on here, & I'm so chuffed with some of the work that my little man & I did today that I wanted to share it & thought - hey what about a "tent" for us horse-peeps.

For those of you that don't know, my little man is called Apocalypse & will be 4 years old this April. We backed him last June & the most important thing is that we are doing Ethology (aka Natural Horsemanship à la Pat Parelli).

Here's a few short youtube links - the first two being the day that we backed him (23rd June 2013)

& here we are today, 8 months later:

Please note the fact that this is being done with no bridle or headcollar !!!!

Can I bring my Clydesdale x Rolo into out tent please? He has been a poorly boy - lame since Christmas. The vet has diagnosed a bony lump near a ligament in hos hoof, and reckons he has knocked it and inflamed the ligament :(. Well, after 2 months of rest and treatment, he is feeling better, and this week I was allowed to ride him again, albeit in walk.

Sounds to me as though we should be breaking out the champagne, how fabulous for you to be back riding him again, isn't that just our greatest fear .... a [permenantly] broken pone :(

Sounds as though Pocs & Rolo could be great mates :like:

P.S. A very handsome gentleman

A lovely tent and I wish I could be part of it. Very envious.

When you said camping with horses I thought you meant taking your horses on holiday. Because I used to work (as the cleaner) at a B&B that had horse stabling with hacks and/ or lessons for rider with or without their horse. So horse holidays.

Here's the riding centre http://www.angleseyridingcentre.co.uk/
and here's the B&B on site. http://www.tal-y-foel.co.uk/
