Sorry to everyone who has been experiencing the 'Resource Limit Reached' errors recently. It looks as though the site is outgrowing its hosting quite rapidly.

If you receive these errors, please do not keep refreshing the page as this won't help matters! Just wait a minute before trying again and this should allow the server to free up some memory/CPU to cope. It only seems to be an issue at the busiest times on the forums. Unfortunately, more and more times of day are becoming busy.

I am currently investigating options regarding costs & logistics of moving to a Virtual Private server or Dedicated server, giving the site a bit more room to grow. Meanwhile I'll be trying to look at ways to improve a few scripts which may be hogging resources a bit (such as the tracker!) and won't be adding anything major to the forums until we have this issue sorted.

In a bit to stave these off meanwhile I've been making some adjustments to the tracker - so far just the main page, but the stats page will be next in line!

So, the (up to) three graphs on your main tracker page are now displayed as one combined image. It shouldn't look really much different than it did, but it's all being generated by the same script now, meaning a couple less database calls, a bit less looping through data and only one script to make the image instead of 3.

Thanks Moogie, we appreciate all your efforts to keep this cuckoo forum in the nest as it grows and grows! Trying to fix problems on a live and active website must be quite nerve-wracking!

Thanks Dom Hoping to hear back from my host soon about upgrade options! I kinda hate playing with a big live site like this, and don't want to have to disable the forum completely every time I tinker with one little thing, so tend not to unless what I'm doing might break everything!

I've started work on adjusting the pie charts generation now, to hopefully cut down on server load when folks filter the tracker. Got to go have some time with the hubby now, and got a busy day of work tomorrow but hope to finish it tomorrow evening
