It looks like the site has had a major surge in traffic since the documentary has aired in Australia a short while ago!

Looking at the server I can see one of the causes of the overload we just encountered is the way phpBB displays uploaded avatars - it sends them via a PHP file for security reasons, instead of just displaying the image file. This means that a huge amount of scripts are running at the same time & bugs the server out.

As a stopgap, I've disabled the uploading of avatars, instead Gallery avatars & remote avatars (eg, an avatar you have uploaded to somewhere else on the web) need to be used instead. I'll try to go through and manually re-add your avatars in a different way.

Sorry about this, it's just the quickest & easiest way to prevent the errors I think!
Almost done manually adding everyone's avatars back :)
...and that oughta do it :)

Everyone who has already uploaded an avatar still has one on the system - however if you wish to change it you'll need to upload it to another site to link to from here.

If that's a problem for anyone please feel free to email me your avatar and username and I'll set it up manually for you :D
