I find that with our small chickens eggs too - the yolks are just as big.

I've been using 75 cals for large eggs as that's what I found in MFP for large, scrambled, no added fat, which is how I use them most often. Egg white 15 and egg yolk 60.

TartanAli it is easiest to weigh eggs in their shell!

My Swedish cal counter puts a medium egg at 65 cals. That' s what I'm counting with!

I bought some duck eggs at the weekend, so I was intrigued to see what weight they were - they vary a lot in size! I weighed it in its shell, and then weighed the empty shell. But there has to be a tolerance level - what about the bit of white that I couldn't quite scrape out of the egg shell? What about the bit left on the fork after I'd scrambled it? What about the scrapes left in the bowl after I'd finished eating? And the scales themselves aren't 100% accurate either.

I've used a 65g measurement on MFP which gives 106 cals (this is duck egg remember, I'd expect a hens egg to average about 70)
