I'm always trying to lower the calorie count in my fast day dinners - here's one for less than 100 calories!

Thanks Breadandwine, I love how you give such precise weights eg 171g of cabbage, you must have a very accurate set of scales!
Your blog is amazing! Thank you!!
Wow you wouldn't think something that looks so tasty would be so low in cals. Thanks for that @BreadandWine. By the way, don't spose you like bread do you

Thanks for that recipe. Will add it to my Hairy ones!

Bean :starving:
@Breadandwine on my word, not a veggie, not in the slightest but that sounds yummy, and for such low cals i'm so giving it a go! :D gonna bookmark ya blog too, I'm starting to get into bread making myself (pre done bread mix atm) i'm gonna go through ya blog and see what i can make! :D
Thanks, folks! I really enjoy the discipline of concocting a fast day dinner - I don't feel tempted to nibble in the slightest!

I shall shortly add to that post, indicating, for maintainers, how they can tweak the leftover curry into a variety of dishes.

Today I had the rest of mine with rice - after simmering the curry for a while to reduce it, I added:
1 tin coconut milk
2 dessertspoons Thai curry
Squirt of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of bouillon powder
1 dessertspoon vegan pesto
Can of chick peas (opened in error - I thought it was coconut milk I was opening! )
1 seitan cutlet - cut into strips

It was absolutely the bees knees! The good news is - there's loads left for tomorrow. I'll probably have it with curried wedges.

@callyanna They're digital scales - from Lidl - must be about 10 years old or more.

@nursebean
By the way, don't spose you like bread do you
Just a bit!

@DragonsHeart
I'm starting to get into bread making myself
Brilliant! If you do try some of my recipes, I'd love to hear how they turn out!
Thanks breadandwine, I will try that curry next week - sounds delicious :-)
I made the Italian loaf using flour and water. It was scrummy. I also made flour and water pancakes too and they were lovely as well.
Thanks very much, it sounds yummy, I'll try it out too. I'm sure you will have said this somewhere, but does it freeze well?
Love your recipes breadandwine, love your blog too. And I was so inspired I started making my own bread a few weeks ago. Yesterday while I was out food shopping I saw some half price organic malted bread....I used to love it.... but when I tasted it, it had no flavour or substance! Who knew.
I am totally committed to making my own bread every week now. Thanks for your inspiration x
Thanks, guys! :like:

Yes, it freezes well, Liz.

I tend to make enough for two days and set half aside for the second day. Nowadays, of course, since I'm maintaining, I turn the other half into… well, it's a good basis for a number of dishes.

@Brand-ie and @drilakila, when I set up my blog, my intention was (still is) to spread the word just how easy breadmaking actually is, and to inspire others to have a go. So to get your feedback is very gratifying - thank you very much!

I'm guessing supermarket bread, drilakila? Once you've started making your own, you don't want to have to go back to commercial bread. Although, having said that, if you can find a good local baker, that's a bit different.

I tell my students, on occasion, 'Careful, this course could change your life!'
I make bread every weekend for the week too. Don't eat it myself though :frown:
Today's fast day curry works out at 94 calories per portion! I'll put the recipe up later.

It's just so full of flavour, and smells so good, I can't wait. Still, only 57 minutes to go. (Not that I'm counting, or anything!)

My other concession to my fasting regime is a glass of iced cold water instead of a glass of beer and some wine. It works surprisingly well, but I've tried it on other days - with limited success! :)
Fabulous! Lovely sounding recipe and happy to have discovered your blog :)
