Voted (and read it over the past few days as it looked like that was the way the voting was going and I was on holiday)
Thanks again for this book club, it really does make me read books I wouldn't usually consider.
Voted - I'm reading Gone Girl at the moment and about half way through. Really enjoying it (I don't want anything too heavy at night when I read). Have already read Maggie O'Farrell's latest Instructions For A Heatwave and liked a lot although not as much as The Hand That First Held Mine - she is amongst my favourite authors  . I will have a look for the other books listed as always welcome recommendations from others.

Don't feel obliged to finish it @rawkaren if it's not doing it for you - one thing I used to encourage people to do when I ran reading groups was not to feel they had to finish a book if they didn't like it or it was a struggle. For most people, it,s a reminder of having to read books to the end at school or college - comparison here with dieting / points counting!! It's a relief when you can give it up!

I will read it. It's the challenge of finishing something I would not ordinarily read
Looks like it may be 'Gone Girl' ...
Hi SD i see you say yr Nov book may be Gone Girl..can ij ust point out if Pigs in Heaven comes up to be voted for in another months book choice,it is a sequel to The Bean Trees so it might be an idea to start with that
Both books were brilliant..Barbara Kingsolver is pretty hard to beat for producing absorbing stories where characters come to life x
Ta CM - have made a note of that :like:
