Bach Flower Remedies

I came across a Bach Emotional Eating kit on Amazon last night -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bach-Emotional-Eating-Kit--3x10ml-Bottles/dp/B002GO9O9Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385844454&sr=8-1&keywords=bach+emotional+eating+kit

and downloaded a free kindle book -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bach-Flower-Rem ... ach+flower

I wanted to ask you all what you thought about Bach Flower Remedies? Is it mumbo jumbo, is it the power of belief, or is there something in it? I know a lot of people swear by Rescue Remedy.

All I know is the one I tried on my dog didn't work, it was ages ago- I think it was supposed to make it less anxious.

I tried a couple of the Bach Flower remedies on my dog but they didn't make a scrap of difference. I also tried using the rescue remedy for me but again, no difference.

I've tried many complementary and alternative medicines and therapies over the years and nothing ever works for me I'm afraid. Perhaps you have to believe that they will work, a bit like a placebo?

My daughter always dismisses me as a sceptic, I suppose I am.

I love my Bach remedies. Not tried the eating kit though so can't comment. I don't care how they work. I dont care about placebo effect either! Our brains are funny things. How we feel and how we react to stress etc can make us ill so why shouldn't the reverse be true and just as valid?

When my fibro flares I use Bach olive and it really helps my energy levels. I would think it would be worth a shot. It certainly wont cause any harm and it could well help.

Thanks @miffy49, I am going to give it a go as I really need to sort out my eating days. I agree, I don't care how it works and if it is just because I believe it works then so be it. If it doesn't work then I've not spent a fortune. I'm always in favour of giving myself a helping hand using alternative/complimentary therapies. I've tried hypnotherapy, alexander technique, aromatherapy. mindfulness meditation amd more I'm sure.

Don't want to be too depressing but rescue remedy was more calming than morphine for my dear mum when she was at the very end of her life. She was severely restless and morphine didn't help that but rescue remedy was what helped her be more calm according to my sister who was with her.

I have used rescue remedy and I am not sure but people I know swear by it. I love aromatherapy, like homeopathy as well acupuncture. Gentle and subtle and effective.
