Congrats, @Julieathome enjoy that special meal together.
A trip to Mallorca sounds just what the doctor ordered @rawkaren

it's blissfully quiet here, though I can hear hub in his workshop with Kitty. No, not another woman or indeed, a cat, but a woodwork thingummiejig!!

I want to have a snooze, but am trying to keep awake.
Yes this week between Christmas and New Year does always seem like a different time zone somehow where normal life is on hold. I'm very much a creature of habit so was really glad to get back to my aqua class today, not many of us there though, just the diehards! Really enjoyed the exercise and feel much better for it.
Staying in tonight keeping warm and cosy maybe watching one of the old Alistair Sim dvds I bought hubby .

I love this time of year. The week between Christmas and NY is when Greg and I fell in love when I was 17 nearly 18. We had been friends for 2 years at our church youth group . we used to muck around and stir each other but I didn't fancy him romantically because he had a big cheesy moustache like BJ Honeycutt in MASH. Then as a group we were all seeing each other every day that week- picnics, movies, pizza. At the beginning of the week I saw that Greg had shaved his moustache off.and he was CUTE!!! So we flirted but nothing was going to happen as he was a bit shy so I asked him out- and today is 28 years ago exactly since our first date. I'm still so happy and lucky that I have to pinch myself sometimes. He would KILL me if he knew I just wrote this- haha. Too bad.
Xxx julianna
Ahhhh! sweet dreams. 23 years ago is when we got married, very
UN-romantically as hubby had received his 'stand-by for call up' letter, for the Gulf war. So I told him we were getting married as if he was going to be shot at, I wanted the pension. We handed out the wedding invites on Boxing Day, and got married the next day. So today we spent half the afternoon snoozing on the sofa (getting old) and tonight at a restaurant where I drank the booze because hubby can't.
*any spelling mistakes are due to prolificate quaffing of champagne*
Ahh two sweet stories @julianna and @Julieathome
Hey maybe thats an idea for a new thread..
I was thinking the same thing @CandiceMarie! Happy Anniversary @Julieathome
I love your story. Thats hilarious and practical. I'll tell you what really happened when I asked him out. I was not confident enough to just ask him straight out. He was boasting that he had just received his insurance payout check for his car or something, so I said ' good, you can take me out to dinner with that.' And he said OK. Then it got to Friday and he hasn't called to make arrangements so I said to my Mum " I'm going to call him" and Mum said in horror " you don't call a boy!"But I did anyway and asked where did he want to go? And he didn't know and asked me and I said "well my Aunty Lena has a nice restaurant at Mosman so we went there. It was lovely and when we held hands for the first time when we crossed the road, there was electricity. Ok , who needs a bucket to throw up! Haha. I'll stop now. Xxx
I like this period if I am off work! We are this week, so hanging around at friends and relaxing. It's our 20th wedding anniversary and my birthday tomorrow and Ju has something planned, I don't know what, but he can be very sneaky! Everyone else knows in the house except me!!!
In the meantime, snuffling Xmas cake, cheesy biscuits and contemplating the 10 bars of choccy that have so far remained unsullied!!
Happy Anniversary @Debs and Happy Birthday for tomorrow.
Xxx
Happy Anniversary and Birthdays to everybody!

Julianna, I love your story! Now, 23 years later, I bet you are so happy that you asked him out!
