Christmas: done..Hello Twixmas!
27 Dec 2013, 12:27
I love the period after Boxing Day and up to New Year..Twixmas! Yay!
It feels like time out of time..lots of people still off work, not as much traffic,a cosy relaxed feeling everywhere
What are your Twixmas plans! I return home from London tonight, then just some days enjoying being back in my own space!..New Year Eve party to go to if so wish but my party animal days are long gone ( apart from our cyber parties hehe!) so might just stay in,watch the fireworks at midnight or be in bed..i find NY Eve a bit sad..i am the only one?
Best crimbo news of all for me ....* bows modestly* have lost two more pounds since last weigh in just before xmas.
My tum didnt want to know about too much food this year( I'm as surprised as you are! ) x
Well, life here is slightly more relaxed now, so much so that I don't fancy going out tonight but we have been invited so I shall don my smaller glad rags and just get on with it; we are a long time dead

Ballerina x
Off out tonight for my Anniversary meal, 23 years married today. Then there may be a New Years Eve/ going away party as well. So its still busy, busy busy here. All of this depends on the power staying on of course. One long blackout already today.
Congratulations Julie, hope you and hubs have a great night out.

Congratulations on your special day @julieathome :victory: :victory: :victory:
 Well done @CandiceMarie you have been a good girl indeed, I thought I hadn't done to bad but the result was 1kg gain  never mind next year will sort that for us.

Congratulations to both of you@Julieathome on your
Silverplate anniversary  well surely that's better than last years copper and next years musical instrument

Had a quiet day yesterday and fasting all day until evening meal which I'm hoping to be under my TDEE .
New Year's Evening meal for us then back to the drawing board with some serious fasting throughout 2014.
Happy Anniversary Julie !

Here, obviously, the next day will be in bed, all alone (I mean, minus OH who is with his children), a bit of a personal feast of NY'eve and NY but alone as well, by choice as I don't like that time of year

And just after there will be the King cake (the first sunday of the year)

Ooh yes Manderley,
you are referring to "la galette des rois"! how I miss that!!! gorgeous warm with some cream mmmmmmmmmmm oh no I have to stop this, am fasting, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh :curse: :starving:
enjoy it anyway, have a little slice on me, and I hope you find the "feve" and get to wear the queen's crown
Not cream but frangipane, almond pastry, which is even worse

Will have some but one I will make myself, in which I will put 6 "fèves" for everybody to have one

I know, I am a big cheater
I meant to eat with Manderley, I know its made with frangipane lol..
if I am at home around this time then I will have some cream with it yum!!

I like the 6 feves lol, you'll need a few crowns!! :-)

@Sue.Q. Well done. :like: That's nothing. You will soon fix that. Congrats @candicemarie on reporting a loss at this time of year! :victory:

Well, subject t to weather/trains/airports we are going to Mallorca on Sunday until next Saturday. Weather looks pretty settled, but a bit cool. Looking forward to catching up with old friends. I also am not a fan of NYE even though I quite like the Spanish tradition of cava and 12 grapes at midnight. Might just do that at home with OH.

Just spent a couple of hours at the optometrist. OH was having flashing in one of his eyes since Christmas morning.

Good news is no retinal tear, but possibly some vitreous detachment (not uncommon as we age and when you are shortsighted). But he has been passed fit to fly
