I have looked long and hard at the awards nominations and decided not to take part.
Everyone here is a star in my eyes; inspirational, clever, funny, good with words, a clever chef etc.
So, I vote for you all, but I won't be taking part in the big jamboree. Please count me out as a big party pooper, but actually a real life lover of everyone.
You have all, mysteriously, become my friends; you have helped me lose weight and gain confidence. You have brought me laughter, trials and tribulations, photos to inspire, avatars to envy and recipes to die for!
You are all equal in my eyes.
Sorry tweeps, will not be voting. Love ya all loads tho' xxx
Penny i think youre right
Altho i have nominated and seconded with complete sincerity, and feel that those people
(and indeed everyone who has been put up for a vote) totally deserve recognition, the truth is there are just too many good folk here to pick and choose from..and yes all are equal in my eyes too

I know its only for fun and i do love a bit of fun.but i am bowing out too and wont be voting x

I'll second many of these sentiments :) Cheers, FatDog xxx
Me too. Penny what a lovely note you wrote just there. Isn't it odd that we can all be such great friends yet most of us have never even met? Group hug

I will be voting however as Moogie has gone to so much trouble to get it right. I think we should just give it a whirl and take it for what it is. Just a bit of fun, but knowing that we all appreciate each other so much, everyone is a winner.
I know what you have all said and totally agree with your sentiments in regard to the generosity of spirit and how everyone is contributing, this forum has been such a fantastic community, so caring and uplifting, combined with high jinks, humour and the rare sparks flying

Oh dear what a quandary. I would hate for anyone to be sorely disappointed if they did not get nominated or then nominees disappointed if they did not win. We are all winners already and so many inspire. Then I also appreciate the spirit from which the concept has arisen to make the event of the forum being 1 year on and some amazing achievements
I agree with everything that has been said, and Penny, you are so right about each and every one of you being special but I also feel like Karen and so I shall vote but as Gillymary says, what a quandary but it is just a bit of lighthearted fun. I love you all,

I always think of the great poem If..by Rudyard Kipling ( who makes good cakes too)

I agree. Izzy can you restore your old post? It was heartfelt.

I missed your original post Izzy but I know for a fact that you are not rubbish with words so whatever you said, I'm sure it was a great read

I'm the same, I decided not to vote for the same reason as Penny. I didn't say anything as I always seem to be a party pooper so I was just going to keep quiet and let others join in the fun.
No pooping allowed on the boards,it makes too much mess! But ive never thought you were a party pooper Coffeetime XX
Wow you lot have been busy. I did put a lot of thought into my nominations and wrote them all down before seeing everyone else's. We are such a loving bunch and I can understand why penny and anyone else would feel that way. I will still be voting fur the reasons already mentioned above. Maybe it will be easier to vote as it will be anonymous . It doesn't mean I like anyone better than someone else , I just see more of a certain quality in them. So for that reason I'm in.
I've been wondering if we'd be better off without a vote. During the nominations process people had a chance to highlight contributions others made. Maybe that's enough?
The nice thing about this forum is that anyone can contribute in whichever way they like and feel pleased by the reactions and support by others. Viewing the 'number of reads' make you aware of the many others over the world who take notice of and are part of our 'community'. So if people want to organise an award festival, that's fine with me, it's already organised in a very open way and indicated to be 'just for fun'. In case you are aready satified with the nomination process and don't like the voting: that's fine also. In case you think it's best that we should only cherish the forum as it is: it's also fine not to participate in the awards. The forum is just a reflection of how different we are in what we really appreciate and perhaps like a bit less.
@izzy what you wrote first was not rubbish at all but from your heart, I for one always like to read your posts which are always very wise.

I guess now I would be happy just to see the results of the vote and not any breakdown of how we voted and anonymous of course

I think this thread has been important as we can share what we think if we have a burning desire to be frank about the process which we cannot do on the actual nomination threads
