Eating my emotions ...
07 Nov 2013, 10:28
I have PCOS and as such, getting prego is not exactly a walk in the park. I knew that going into it all, but 18 months, acupucture, three failed rounds of Clomid and another specialists appointment later, I'm a little discouraged.

And it's not helped by one of my closest friends calling up tonight to let me know she's pregnant after trying for all of a month or so. She was lovely and sensitive in telling me and I am genuinely happy for her but yeah, not the easiest news.

Which is a long way to say I ended up eating half a bag of crisps and some ice cream. Thank goodness it's a 'feast' day! And I know that the food never makes the sad stuff better but still, I do it.

*sigh*

OH is out and I really just need a hug I think!

Big hug on the way Mandy. Your poor thing I'm sorry things are so hard at the moment. Forget your binge, although it doesn't sound like you ate that much anyway. I hope your a OH is home soon and he can give you a real hug

Thanks

I think the only reason I stopped eating the chips is that my OH bought some weird Coles-branded salt 'n pepper popped chips! I don't think I would have stopped if they'd been something half decent!

A big (((hug))) from me too MelbMandy.

I'm wondering if it's wise to do 5:2 while you are trying to get pregnant though? Perhaps that might be one of the reasons why it is taking so long? It's not recommended in The Fast Diet book - page 123
"...we err on the side of caution and suggest that if you are trying to get pregnant, you should not fast. Period."

Although you are happy for her it must be heartbreaking to hear of your friend's pregnancy at the moment, no wonder you are feeling so low. I always eat way too much when I'm feeling down, as long as you don't overeat day after day then the odd binge might help if it gives you comfort.

Take good care of yourself and stay positive  :clover:

Been there and done that too Mandy, will PM you. It was lovely of your friend to share her news but get that for you it is a double edged sword. It is good to have somewhere to be able to talk about it, as lots of people don't have a clue as to how you are feeling and what you have and still are going through.

Hug it is then :hugleft:    :clover: :hugright:

I did think of that but considering that I don't ovulate at the moment anyway (due to the PCOS), losing a bit of weight isn't going to make a difference. I put on 3kgs during the last stretch and as soon as we start the next lot of treatment early next year, I'll stop fasting just to be on the safe side.

Thanks
