seeing as this is the horsey thread just wanted to proudly say Breeze and I passed our Level 3 online audition. Liberty and Freestyle to go and we will have a green string. Plus I may just have reached my Christmas target weight loss early. Woohoo! x

What's the green string???
Online & liberty sound like Parelli to me, but I've never heard of colour strings
What a pleasure to see the love and enjoyment, thank you so much. My cat and I are enjoying you thread
I got to the field yesterday morning to find that the expected head count of five was only two!!! (EEK!!!) Thankfully after a brief hunt the "three Houdini's" turned up in my YO's neighbour's front garden, where they were scoffing her windfall apples. During the course of their escapade, they'd managed to have a run in with quite a few burrs!!! The broken fence has been mended and reinforced too!!!
Ponies were bribed with haynets whilst the offending burrs were removed yesterday pm and normality has now resumed.
Very relieved that all were present and correct this morning!!!

OMG how terrifying that must have been for you, first thing I do when I wake up is look out the window for the 2 old folk (getting more scared by the year that one of them may be lying down ) sometimes they're hidden behind a gorse bush or very occasionally in their field shelter round the corner (you know, the expensive ones that we rushed to give them when we moved in, that they rarely use!)
So glad all are back & present & correct

AnnieD yes sorry it is Parelli lol. If you pass all three savvy's in one level you get a coloured string to put on your carrot stick. We humans love goals and rewards eh? L1 is red, L2 is blue, L3 is green and L4 is black.
Domane, glad the houdini's were found safe x

OMG I am in the presence of a "nearly level 3 person - how fab!
I really must look them up in more detail & see if I'm anywhere close to Level 1 - how do you get your levels confirmed?
(note to self to find out if Andy Booth is actually Parelli or just an offshoot)
you are funny! I used to think L3 was unobtainable but now I am here I look at L4 and think yes!
Levels are confirmed by submitting a 10 minute unedited video of whichever savvy you want tested on, pay some money and wait. There are lots, including mine on Youtube. I bet you are probably L1 at least if you know the basics x

Errr, I think a youtube link is in order please.
I've been doing pareilli for a couple of years now, which is what motivated me last year to get an unhandled 2 1/2 year-old & back him myself this year. Having had a fun summer galloping through forests & stuff I've effectively turned him away for winter to have a think about things, only doing "natural riding" to develop him in that direction in readiness for spring.
Had a good laugh last week as we were riding with just a savvy string around their necks & we had a bit of fun going over some jumps when we all realised I'd never jumped him before!!!! I would never have thought that my first jump on a youngster would be without even a halter.
We're coming on real well at liberty too, he just loves "go touch"
Think I'll find out more about the levels & maybe give them a go.
Looking out for your link
Edit:
I've just found this http://www.nwnhc.com/downloads/Pathways%20Detail.pdf that seems to explain it quite nicely, on a good day I reckon we're level 2 and are probably starting on level 3 (without knowing it)!
Hmmm some DVDs and an upgrading of my membership could be a good crimbo pressie

We have struggled with circle game at Liberty and Freestyle riding. My horse Breeze was a rescue and came to me with a lot of baggage. She is a RBE/LBE as described by Parelli in terms of horsenality. I had a really bad accident 6 years ago and developed PTSD but have finally got confident. I only started riding 7 years ago at a ripe old age so it's been a great learning curve
Sounds like you are doing really well and a membership upgrade sounds like the perfect crimbo pressie lol.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1G8hjeFzeY this was my L3 a year ago. Took me a year to do the resubmit! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPpn4IawQVw. We moved yards in this last year and it has made the world of difference.
I have ridden Breeze once halter-less and not for very long. We will do it one day. She loves the touch it game too! x

Fabulous progression between the 2 videos you wouldn't know she's an extrovert on the 2nd one, so calm, responsive & happy. Well done to both of you, I aspire to such minimal suggestions !
My boy is LBI and I'm currently going through a phase of me expecting too much - I know we have to expect a lot but I think I need to pop back to getting the basics really sharpened up - your video has made me realise that. Think I'll watch a few parelli basics before my weekend session!

I love the pictures of big Jack - he is scrummy! But then I am biased, as I am also a Clydesdale x owner
Rolo is 16hh, a really lovely chap to handle and ride, and carried me perfectly even at 16 stone. He is my first horse, as I only took up riding at 40. We have such fun cantering around the countryside at top speed, doing fun rides, and an occasional cross-country training session or mini ode.
Sorry they are so huge!
