Requested in another thread so I'll introduce my "herd".
First of all we have big Jack - on the right, a 16hh Clydesdale X Welsh D who looks mostly Clydie.
He's a bit of a nervous nelly but a safe hack and rises to the responsiblity of looking after his rider. He's really now my husband's horse since I had a fall last year (not from Jack) and broke 6 ribs.
On the left is Albi, who turned 4 in June. I've had him since he was 11 months old and now co-own him with the lady who is on him in the pic. He's been backed this summer and is doing brilliantly.... he's a labrador, cunningly disguised as a hairy coblet! Just adorable and very loving, wouldn't hurt a fly and incredibly laid back and placid. I always said I wanted to sit on Albi on my 50th birthday and although I still considered myself to heavy for him on the actual day, I did climb aboard for a photo opportunity.
I've since lost another stone so will be sharing the riding of him a bit more now as I feel he can cope with my current weight as it continues to fall.
My "own" riding horse is Joey... a super safe conformationally-ugly-as-sin 14.2hh cob of sorts... (pictured here with my husband on Jack)
Joe has been a total rock since his arrival last August and has been instrumental in healing my shattered confidence after my accident, above and beyond! I am having more fun riding now than I've had for many years. Whilst he coped fine with me at my heaviest, I felt I owed him to lose a shed load of weight and I'm sticking to my word!!!
Lastly, I have a yearling that I bred last year. He's officially called Boo Radley but is known as Baby-Boo or BooBoo... pic of him at a day old and now...
He's not going to be tall... he'll probably take after his parents who were both bang on 14hh but he'll be a chunk. I'd like to learn to drive him.
