Last Supper
21 Sep 2014, 15:34
Hi everyone,

I am just watching a rerun of New Zealand Masterchef, they are cooking what would be their last supper, who they would eat it with and where they would eat it. I was wondering what everyone here would do.

I would have a crab Waldorf salad and I would eat it with as many of my family who could get together without arguing  and my little furry friend Drizst and I would eat it at Mans Head, Clodgy, St Ives.

Over to you.

Gosh that is a hard one! It would be with family and my animals but I cannot say I have a favourite dish. There are lots I like. Think I would say I would have a white chocolate Toblerone, not a meal I know but chocolate I love and rarely have.
Sorry to be so useless!

Let's see:
Everything tastes better after a nice day at the beach, so we will spend the time before the meal swimming in ocean water just warm enough to be comfortable with lovely waves to bob in.

Then we'll have raspberry muffins baked on a wood stove (the way they make them in the schooner we go sailing in up in Maine). Also a pecan sticky bun. (This is my last meal, I get to have one of each.)

Main dish: Fresh caught crab, scallops, and lobster in mornay sauce, with a side of corn bread with corn and peppers in it. A side of Boston baked beans (the rich, molasses-y ones with pork, baked overnight in a pot from scratch). If still hungry, a crusty baguette with freshly made butter.

For dessert, a dessert sampler with small servings of French custard pastry with rich homemade fudgy sauce poured over it, NY cheese cake, and pecan pie made with brown sugar--none of the corn syrup stuff, please. My brown sugar pecan pie is to die for, and if it was my last meal, it would make a great send off!
